Y'all can ignore this and let it slide down the page and I'm find with that but there have been some thoughts in my head the last 3 weeks that I have wanted to put on here. Many have been written somewhere on this board...or some variation. But I have some real concerns now.

1) I have never been a Garrett fan with the exception of his part time season. I've tried to switch over and last season I was actually genuinely trying to be positive but then the Rams happened. So the thought of him leaving has been a good thing....BUT

2) About 3 weeks ago..not sure why..I almost started feeling bad for the guy. He looked frustrated. It was a weird empathy where I started to feel...what if we went on a run and won a SB with him? He's a nice guy. I'm a long time fan. Stop ruining the enjoyment of the game because of a coach. Relax and continue cheering and let the chips fall where they may.

3) As the losses started to happen and I saw the reaction...or inaction...of players and then Jerry freak out, I started to grow more concerned. I knew Jerry meddling was an issue. I knew players were pampered and he hated letting guys go. I knew he was too attached to Garrett. I am convinced that JG isn't a good coach BUT I'm becoming more concerned that even if he was, the players live life too comfortably...no accountability. A boss who makes it about the glitz and glamour. Then I saw this tweet.

The "friend" part got to me. It is what is wrong with Jerry, Michael and anyone involved with the team....they are too friendly. It's not employer/employee. My response to Michael was

Then I read the Athletic article about how Jaylon reacted after the game vs guys like Quinn, who were at a loss and really upset. Why are Quinn and Bennett speaking out and the long timers so content? It's all said in that tweet.

4) The fact is...Jerry has gone wheels off. In the past his craziness involved signing guys to try and get over...Deion, TO, etc. I liked that crazy side of Jerry. This stubborn, old, drunk Jerry who can't get his personal feelings out of the way to help us win will continue to rear its ugly head. Even if Urban or whoever comes in here and wins and wins a SB, they will run away from the circus at some point like Jimmy and Bill.

Fact of the matter is..I'm glad JG may be done...but for his sanity, walk away and part mutually. There is a sliver in my head that says, "you weren't a great coach, but you have also dealt with 10 years of crazy. Sorry bro"

That's all. The Jones family needs a Troy in their ear. They just do.

There's no way in hell I will ever feel bad for Garrett. He could have walked away a long time ago since he knew from the beginning he wasn't qualified for the job, but he remained on board and stole Jerry's money for nearly 10 years.

I so look forward to the day he is on the unemployment line. Hell, I'll even mail an application to him for Taco Bell.

This is truly the magic and strength of Garrett. Getting everyone to like him. And he does it even with the fact that its completely obvious he has no business whatsoever in football. He is the most clueless football guy I have EVER seen in coaching.

Sorry I never empathize with millionaires or feel sorry for them. Garrett made more money in a few months than I made over my entire lifetime and was able to keep the job for 10 years without the required performance unlike what is required from the rest of us proletariat. So you'll need to find shared sympathy elsewhere.:(

I agree but that is what Jerry did for a few weeks! Listen I’ve been a leader on wanting JG gone. Still do! I’m just saying that our org is chaos

Definitely. But part of the reason is because we have some boob at HC. Jerry needs a HC that he respects and will defer to. Needs a guy that will stand up to him. Not some idiot yes man.

Agree in a lot of ways! I just felt that Jerry’s incompetence finally started to overrule his where I still wanted him gone but more shrugged. It’s a bad corporate environment

Culture has been a 2 decade problem in Dallas. As much as I dislike Garrett, the "culture" issue predates him.

There is a malaise that affects the Dallas Cowboys and it resides in the ownership/gm level. The issue starts with the idea of running your organization like a giant country club.

Yes, this has been the problem with the Cowboys since Jimmy Johnson left. Jerry gets too close to his players and coaches and he develops a misplace loyalty. Its a business and its about winning. Player will come and go, some because of age and others because they have to. It sucks to fire someone. I was a manager for over 35 years and I can tell you that the worst thing any manager has to do is fire people. But as a manager, or a GM in this case, its your job. You do it because people who are not performing effect others and their success. I used to tell my people that every one of them is a reflection on everyone else in the organization. If they don't pull their weight then someone else has to or we all fail. Its unfair. I know for a fact that if someone in the organization is failing and you do not remove them, the rest of the organization will question your ability as a manager. I am almost certain this is what's happening in Dallas. This is why Maher had to go. Its not about finding a better kicker. There may not be one out there. Its about sending a message to the team that if you do not do your job then you too will be gone or on the bench.

Garrett had 10 years to win and he failed. This year it was worse than ever, but he has never been good at certain fundamental things coaches should be able to do. The greatest leaders in history removed ineffective subordinates quickly and decisively. Jerry has let Garrett slide for about 5 years too long.

There's certainly a great deal of Dysfunction in the way the Jones family handles this team. It's more like a monarchy than a business. Let's face it, Jerry is the king, and all of his relatives are given jobs based on their relation to him, and not whether they're the best choice for the job. Garrett is among that group, nit related by blood, but related due to a long-standing bind between the Jones and Garrett families. And it's why his two idiot brother had (one still has) jobs here as well. This isn't a new dynamic, because the father was here a long time and all of the kids somehow found their way here when they played. This has been a long-standing issue.

But that doesn't absolve Garrett of his failings either. This is not an either-or proposition, it is both. Garrett was hired in the first place as a result of the nepotism business model, but he never deserved the job in the first place and isn't good at it.

Yep. Now our players act like celebrities and are treated as so.
Y'all see that top 10 things you didn't know part 2 video on Dak and Zeke ? WHO CARES!? I don't care about their cars, love lives, or houses! The players thrive off of this kind of attention. The Real Housewives of the Dallas Cowboys should be a reality show since this team loves to bask in attention. This culture is all thanks to Jerry .

Agree on bolded! He has never been a good coach. He could have been gone 3-4 times in 10 years for his mistakes. My main point is somewhere in this season I noticed a Jerry issue that seemed magnified by 1000 more than I thought before. It's a frustrating thought because you are still fearful of any one small thing that will allow the JG/Jerry structure to stay the same. All of it together just weakens the organization.

They need a Scrooge as there headcoach. Is that what I'm hearing? Someone to maintain that employer employee dynamic. Cause that's what Jimmy Johnson did. And that didn't turn out to well. So Jerry needs to learn his place first.

The players and coaches don't need to pal around with you Jerry. No one needs to buddy up to you or kiss your ring. Drop the ego and let the coaches do the coaching.

Garrett is trash

he is frustrated because he has no clue what to do

THE ONLY reason he has not been fired is Jerry

that is exactly the reason he needs to go

not sure why you can’t see this

How did Jaylon act?

I'd post the article with quotes but The Athletic is subscription and the links are blocked here. BUT the article was showing how players reacted after the Bears loss. Much of the article focused on Jaylon's demeanor post game which included him worried about where his second phone was...as if it was the most important detail post game. How he was smiling and saying that they were still in first so things were good and that they would be out in any other scenario but are good with the their division. 10 ft away was Quinn who couldn't process the loss and who was shaking his head and barely able to speak to reporters because he was so upset. This was talked about in a segment on The Ticket yesterday too. It's strange that Bennett gave a speech one week and that Quinn, also a new guy...is this upset...but guys like Jaylon were just worried about their clothes, phones and being in first still. I guess guys process things differently but we have too many "lifestyle" guys around here.
