Having Witten and Lee on the roster near season's end is very telling

My post in the preseason was met with much derision and fits.
The consensus was that Witten was a superb blocker, had excellent hands and was an on-field coach. (He said years ago he was not there to mentor.)

Also, that Lee's experience and work ethic would inspire the pups Jaylon and LVE and, again, that Lee would be an on-field coach.

I suspect that Jerry's love for these two fossils blinded him to what was in the team's best interests.

Imagine how much better Jarhead and Schultz would be with the snaps Witten wasted.
Imagine how we'd have developed other LBs without Lee taking a roster spot.

Rotten way to manage a team, this compassion for elders!
Having Witten and Lee on the roster was done with the heart, not the intellect, ruffians!
Any other team would have disposed of these two dinosaurs in 2017.

I think it could be argued that Lee has played as well or better the Smith or lve....witten is not as explosive as jarwin but he also has had a better year than many expected....

Why don't we talk about some of the secondary garbage players or our complete lack of any interior pass rush...

Both of them are playing for peanuts.

In case you hadn't noticed, we do actually need TEs to block and although I like Jarwin, he's basically a big WR

Dak leads the league in passing attempts and Dallas has allegedly become a passing offense. Witten played 86% of the snaps against the LIONS and Jarwin only 30%. The excuse of blocking doesn’t even hold and Zeke ran better last year anyways.

You do know that TEs keep DEs off the QB too, right?

Oh, I guess you didn't because of the content of your post.

So pleased tell me how often Witten is blocking in passing situations with Dak leading the league in passing attempts? Oh, I guess your just throwing out some random assumption trying to claim Witten is back there blocking all day long in PASSING situations, while you really have no clue..

Witten and TEs normally stays into block in running situations. like I said, Zeke was running better larr year anyways. And they allegedly brought Witten back for a limited role.

I will always have a ton of respect for what these 2 players have done for the organization

it’s probably a good thing we got Lee because of injuries even though he’s average at best

if Witten could just play down by the goal line he’d serve this team well

both of these players are done and would be great to have on the coaching staff next year and beyond

Lee has been decent. What happened with Witten is exactly what a lot of us hoped wouldn’t happen with him and it did. Wayyyyyyy too many reps.
Did you really believe it was gonna be limited after once again they said it would be up to him to take himself off the field. I was so mad because Jarwin is getting better.

Naw I didn’t think it would. It’s why I was upset he came. They put it in his court and he’s a football player. He’s not giving his reps up even though it would’ve been admirable if he did. Dirk did it for the Mavericks. Witten won’t do it for us but it’s the coaches that should’ve done it anyway. Now another year has gone and we still don’t know what Jarwin and Schultz are.

Sean Lee is arguably the best linebacker on the team this year. Witten had a really good start to the season but fell off. His blocking hasn't been good enough to justify getting so many snaps over Jarwin.

I think Jarwin is a keeper but his rookie deal will be up before we can find out how good. Everytime he gets the ball he makes a play it seems. Schultz has been quiet because there isn’t enough reps to go around. I figured our staff wouldn’t keep him off the field. Our staff just stands there.

Witten, on the other hand, is unexplainable...

or the new coach...
