Not sure he's a good fit.......huge on the so-called alpha dog players. Word is his WC offense was one of the easiest to defend. There were also rumblings he'd gotten complacent/lazy near the end of his Packer job. What's more concerning for me is the Browns front is loaded people who have worked with him but they didn't interview him for their vacancy last year.

Mike McCarthy 'needs football,' eyeing 2020 return: Five potential landing spots for former Packers coach
The Super Bowl-winning coach is plotting for a new job, so where could he end up?

It's now been more than a year since Mike McCarthy was fired by the Green Bay Packers, ending a 13-year run as head coach that included four NFC Championship Game appearances and a Super Bowl title.

As CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported in November and NFL Network documented this week, McCarthy is now "preparing in earnest" for a return to the sidelines in 2020. After spending most of this season with his family, away from the game, the 56-year-old has formed The McCarthy Project, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, an assembly of longtime coaches collaborating "as if they're the NFL's 33rd coaching staff" with everything from film and analytics study to playbook prep and practice scheduling.

Nahhhh. As you can see this year it was all aaron. Kinda like how if garrett gpt fired it wouldve had zero impact on Romo.

Seems like most people won't be happy with anyone short of Bill Belichick.

If it's a guy who's had a job before, he's a failed retread. If he's a young coordinator like most teams hire, he's an unproven puppet.

I don't get it. Almost anyone would be an improvement over the 10-year Red Fraud.

His play calling stinks ..we got that already, I’d rather have a different problem. But if he’s one of the lesser candidates then that’s a good problem to have. We got choices this time...good ones.

Well said. I'm not advocating for the guy but I wouldn't lose any sleep if we hired him either.

my guess is he lands in cleveland if there is an opening...maybe atlanta being an offensive minded guy and they have Ryan at QB or the ny giants.
wouldn't hate him here tho.
but his personality lends to the idea he might not like Jerry as the GM.
but if he's good with it...I think he would build strong teams here.

No thanks and I actually don’t think he gets a big job because of the feud he had with Rodgers. I suspect Browns or Jags are in his future.

That would be very, well, underwhelming of a hire...............he is not even in my top 5

With that being said, if the choice is McCarthy or keeping Clappy for another season, well..................welcome to Dallas McCarthy:thumbup:

I'd take just about anyone right now and I'm no fan of McCarthy. Knowing Jerry his choice will be underwhelming anyway.
