If we have to rebuild, how do we have a window? Saying we need to rebuild suggests we don’t have the talent for a window to be open.

In any case, the “window” idea isn’t a legitimate argument anyway. The window was supposed to close when Romo was out. It didn’t. The way the NFL works doesn’t dictate that there is an endless cycle where a team is competitive a few years and sucks a few years and on and on.

A metaphoric window one can project the life spans of talents.

Cowboys did it to themselves. Lost to the Jets. Lost to Chicago. Lost to NE. Losing games they should have won cost them the playoffs not losing to the E-Gals.

This ignore the fact that rosters don’t stay stagnant. Rosters evolve. They don’t Build then fall off a cliff then start from scratch again.

Judging from what is going on with Jerry even after such a disappointing season, let alone making the playoffs and getting blown out, if the Cowboys had indeed made the playoffs, probably Jason would have been extended.

Yep, this team as is no matter what coach comes in at best is a one and done Job in any playoff scenario!
Rebuild it and stop drinking Jerry's Kool-aid!

I swear some of you are just plain numbskulls.
What??? We lost to each of these teams during the regular season.
One would think after losing to the Packers this team would go out and trounce the winless Jets the following week, that’s what good teams do, they play with fire and intensity especially after a loss.
So genius... what was the result of that game?

Agreed. I think the term "rebuild" is very over-rated.

Seattle has supposedly been in "rebuild mode" the last 3 years yet they evolve and field a competitve playoff caliber team every year because they upgrade 3-5 positions every year via smart free agents and draft.........

Greenbay at the end of last year was suppose to be rebuild mode and then they go and sign 5 free agent starters and get a 1st round bye .......

Like you said the roster doesn't just magically fall off a cliff. You can get good bang for your buck free agent starters and draft 2 possible 3 starters via draft if cash is low. You can evolve and improve your team regardless of cap issues or coaching changes if your a well run organization
