Would you be for or against Witten getting a spot on this staff?

I respect your Witten hate.
Love the player. Have his jersey. Wear it every Sunday.
I’m just tired of the training of coaches. This is the Dallas Cowboys. It should only attract and accept the best of the best

My standards are probably higher than most because I remember what this franchise used to be

Have no clue how anyone offers an opinion on this question as-if it has any legitimate insight whatsoever.

He's not been a coach. So there's that.

And.

Even if he had, like for any other assistant, we would be going strictly based on what others... who do have insight from actually seeing what he did in practice... thought about his work.

The more interesting question to me is, would you be comfortable if he was invited to play and coach?...

As far as I know, the last guy to do that in a Cowboys uni was another TE... Dan Reeves.

He can follow Garrett. Playing and teaching aren’t the same thing.

I don't get all the hate. Yes, Witten should no longer be playing but how do we know he would be a bad TE coach? Kellen Moore is our OC after a couple of seasons as a backup QB and one season as OC. Witten has been in the league for years and is a future HOF.

As long as Big Mac is ok with it, I wouldn't mind Witten as a QC coach or even TE coach. I do believe the head coach should pick his entire staff, and I also think we need a clear chain of command (I hate the whole passing coordinator and running coordinator BS).

I dont want him on the sidelines - I can see him getting Jarwin into that medical tent and making him give up his uniform so Wit could get a few plays in.

he can go and become a top hairpiece model. he can do his drop and roll and to prove the piece won't come off.

He has said that he wants to coach in the NFL. Something tells me he's already asked Jerry if he could find him a coaching spot. And his answer would probably be something like "After everything you've done for us Jason, of course we'll find a spot for you as an assistant coach!"

While I'm not as hellbent about preventing our future HOF TE from coaching here as some of you, I can see why it would raise some eyebrows.

I'm against it. Now is not the time and a move like that screams Jerry's idea. I think McCarthy needs to bring in a TE coach with experience familiar with what he's doing offensively.

He can follow Garrett this way they can still go to sporting events.

They should bring him back for 1 game to get 23 yards receiving to get to 13,000 even, then go put back on the rug.

Not this season, Witten is too connected to Jerry, they need one unified voice.

Witten has tarnished his legacy with the Cowboys. He is as selfish as Dez at this point. He could have been a legend here and eventually a coach here.

But at this point, Witten needs to part from this team for at least a season or two and if he wants to come back and try to coach after that he can start at the bottom and work his way up.

as for Witten, I would prefer we stay the course with veteran proven coordinators and that goes for Moore also. there is a new sheriff in town, let's see what he decides
