Don't forget Shanahan in our own NFC East. I would throw Joe Gibbs in there too. Coming back after 20 years, it might as well have been a different team.

Who were the coaches that had a chance besides Parcells? Reeves, Shula, Vermeil, who did I miss? I know there's more
What real chance of another SB did Parcells have coming to that Cowboys team?

And he also went to an AFC title game as the Jets coach.

legend.

Yep....and they were set up to go to a Super Bowl the next year and then testeverde got hurt early in the season " out for the year" and it all went up in smoke. I remember Key Johnson actually breaking down right at the podium and weeping because he knew it was all over after all the hard work they put in. So close.

I remember that. Didn’t Vinny rupture his Achilles or something like that?

That team was great with Keyshawn and Chrebet at receiver and Curtis “my favorite” Martin at running back.

He might not have gotten us to a championship game but taking that Quincy Carter led Cowboy team to the playoffs was one of his best work.

He also built that roster that was the #1 seed the following year. If he didn’t retire, he very likely would have gotten us to the NFC title game at least. Sadly, he hung them up one season too soon.

Mike Ditka. Jimmy Johnson. Jon Gruden.

Winning a Superbowl with two different teams seams to be a tall order. Hope McCarthy is up for the task.

I meant the coaches that actually took two different teams to a SB. I think there's more than just 4.

Jones basically said that he asked Garrett personality about him meeting McCarthy before he even interviewed and spoke about Garrett’s ‘classy response’. This idea Garrett was coming back is denied by Jerry himself.

Anything about Garrett is just PR by the Jones to save his face. Even Jerry Mentions the Garrett family ties to him and the organization. He even said he’s written checks to a Garrett in football, for all but TWO years.

I wasn't talking about the Cowboys. Parcells won a SB with the NYG and lost a SB with the New England Patriots. I'm just including coaches that took two separate teams to a SB.

Had Parcells stayed with the Cowboys he had a shot IMO. That 2007 team he built. I do not believe the Cowboys would have taken a turn for the worse in 2008 had he stayed.
