Just watching McCarthy in the presser, he just looked like he was shoved into that suit.

Kept waiting for this.

I don't think it matters if Jerry sits up there for a coach intro PC.

If he lets Zeke go cry to him that the new coach is being mean to him and Jerry acts on it, that's when you have a problem.

Meh, I dont care. In fact Ive heard MM likes having a FO that will handle the media. He simply wants to coach. As long as Jerry lets him do his job and coach the team towards his vision it doesn't matter.

We are off to a great start. The first myth about no reputable coach wanting to come to Dallas has been crushed.

The next concern was wether or not the FO would let that coach assemble a staff he felt would be able to work as a cohesive unit. Many believed Jerry would have his hands all over the staff, but at this point MM has had full autonomy in who he brings in.

Next we will need to know MM is the play caller. You can sell me on KM staying, but I won't be sold that MM would turn over play calling duties.

We will also need to see MMs stamp on the draft.

At that point I will feel reasonably comfortable the organization is making positive changes. I understand the FO being front and center for the PC may seem like a symptom of our overall dysfunction, but the actions to this point in the off season contradict that. Lets hope MM finds success early and often and Jerry isn't compelled to step back in.

True, Jerry may have the self discipline to step back for now but when players come crying to him it may be a different story. Things have been so twisted for so long its going to take a philosophical change from not just the FO and coaches but the players as well.

I hope MM clarifies who is running this football team from day one. He seems to be a pretty analytical guy. I imagine hes well versed of the pitfalls in Dallas.

There were questions specifically for the Jones'. No reason they couldn't be present.
Were there not questions for the CAR owner and GM? Or did they realize this was all about the HC? Snyder left his new HC alone to answer questions and didn't feel the need to remind everyone of who runs the team.

There would have been no questions for the Joneses had they left it to Big Mike and that idiot to his left wasn't laughing into the mic and leading the applause. The more I see that goon, the more I think Booger and Jean should have waited to have kids and stopped with Junior and Charlotte's Web.

There is only one way that happens, it's like when I take my dogs to the vet. They're different and lot more cooperative if I am out of sight.

The Joneses can start by leaving the meetings to him and let the players hear only that one voice.

Besides it gives the media something to gripe about. You know why we’re “America’s Team”? Because we feed everyone. Journalists make a nice living dissing us, or at least dramatizing every possible detail. “...Jerry and Stephen BOTH had bowel movements today...something stinks here...”. Nick Wright from First Things First is already declaring how Dallas is NOT a contender in 2020! I kinda feel bad for the guy. What is he, 6’5”, 150 lbs.? Ugly as sin, giant honker, head shaped like one of those Ancient Alien astronauts, and you KNOW he doesn’t get chicks and was probably bullied in high school. All he has is his mouth and his forced, D level celebrity. Yeah, I know, it’s just his opinion, but there are people on this board that are better, and THEY don’t have a platform. So Nick, so adamant, why don’t you drop the mic and go for the REAL fame and fortune, as an NFL GM?

Wonder what the presser would like if we lost game one?
Funny, he claimed last season we were SB contenders, but didn't like JG.....Flavor of the month with these moroons. And some fans worship them.

Hey G, ya know what bothers me most? That SO MANY Cowboyhaters use these supposed expert analysis to validate their snark. “SAS’s opinion carries more weight and is much closer to reality than any Cowboys fan!”

Well you knew Jerry was gonna have to be the BIGGEST part of anything. The other two coaches were just announced. They came up and let the fans and players know what to expect. We had to listen to over an hour of Jerry's life reviews, pajama parties and what you want in a fox hole. One hour and I have NO idea what the hell McCarthy will do better then Garrett:facepalm:

Especially giving a college HC a 7 year 62M deal. That's going to domino the hell out of HC salaries in both the NFL and college. The college salaries are that high to keep them in college.
What was Mike contract deal? I saw 5 years but not the amount$$

Here's a more fair comparison.

Contrast with Bill Parcells introduction:

or Wade Phillips

I can't find anything with Jason Garrett's introduction. Somewhere between Wade and Mike McCarthy, they stopped using the podium and a table instead.

McCarthy made a comment about that too. Said it was the first time he was seated at a table for a press conference. On purpose?

I am assuming Garrett didn’t have a formal introduction since he took over mid season.

Looking at two new NFL head coaches being introduced to the media today, one couldn’t help but notice some major contrasts between how the two organizations introduced their new HC.

In Carolina’s press conference, new HC Matt Rhule was introduced by Panthers owner David Tepper, who after introducing Rhule, exited the stage. Rhule walked to the stage, spoke a few min about his philosophy, then took questions from the media. Neither Tepper nor his General Manager took the stage to talk to the media. Their new HC clearly is their mouthpiece. Here’s a link to the Panther PC:

(Intro starts about 6 min in)

In the Cowboys press conference to introduce Mike McCarthy, owner/GM/Jock sorter/Hotdog vender Jerry Jones sat alongside his new HC along with his VP and #1 son, Stephen Jones. The Jones boys talked more than Coach Mac. Quite a contrast to the Rhule intro. Here’s link to today’s Cowboys presser:

(Jerry starts the PC off at about 3:30 mark)

Jerry talked extensively at the press conference to introduce Jimmy...the Cowboys won 3 Super Bowls over the next 7 seasons...
