They we’re both petty as hell. I find it amusing that despite the blowout coming after the SB win when Jimmy publicly snubbed Jerry in front of coaches isn’t brought up more often as the trigger.

if Jimmy would have been willing to let Jerry have any credit and share in the victories, Jerry wouldn’t have felt so threatened and fired JJ.

now we’ve had Jerry withholding the ROH all these years mainly as a result of those snubs

they’re both children in so many ways

The article paints Jerry as petty, but doesn't mention the fact that Jimmy, in his response to being told he was going into the HoF, gave credit to all his assistant coaches and players, but none to Jerry, the man who hired him in the first place. They've both been petty all along.

I'm with ya, brother. Both of them could've handled their business better, but people just wanna rag on Jerry and remember Jimmy as a saint.
It's not even close to being that simple.........you tag a patent, which you worked your butt off for, and the CEO sells it.

Then throws it in your face, receives the monetary value and sends you back to your cube.

There's a reason they all laughed at Jed. "Any one of 500 coaches?" Seriously?

And here we are, 26 years later.......no one is laughing and Jed is STILL NOT the face of the franchise. Won't be, is not and will never be....ever. He's a narcissist.

He valliantily proclaims......"I make ALL the final decisions".

HE owns that.

Sorry. His words, not ours.

I dont think we need Uche Nwaneri to tweet his thoughts on all this.

We have all known how jealous and petty Jerry has been towards Jerry.

And all Cowboys fans have paid for it the last 25 years.

If jimmy isnt in roh yet , he never will be until jerry is gone. And he may never get in. HOF makes no difference at all.
Jerry evidently holds a grudge for life.

I agree, both of these guys are at fault for the split. I'm no fan of Jerry Jones on any level but Jimmy did his fair share of pettiness. Jimmy wouldn't toast the success of the Cowboys with his boss in a public place. Petty. They're both narcissistic and 2 narcissists can't survive in the same area for long.

Don't get me wrong, as a fan of 44 years I'm at the point were I pretty much hate Jerry Jones, so by no means am I sticking up for him but Jimmy was not an innocent victim in this thing. I remember going into the '93 super bowl week Jimmy was hinting of leaving. They were both wrong and stupid and childish.

Nonsense. Jerry is in because he showed the league how to grow...hugely.

That has nothing to do with us Cowboys fans, that has to do with lining the owners pockets. What Jimmy did had everything to do with bringing 3 rings to the Cowboys history. Jerry made the HoF as a contributor hence he's still not accepted as a football guy and won't ever be.

How? He is already in the HOF, so why do he look petty?

He's not in for his stellar work as a gm, he's in for brokering Nike deals and other contracts, not on field football stuff that he greatly craves.

What do we Cowboys fans have to do with the subject at hand? It seems anyone basing his opinion of this situation, and carrying a grudge because of how it affects us is also being petty.

It’s funny just Jerry went the cheap and unproven route to find his next Landry when he was here from Day 1 of his regime

Tell us something we don't know. The grudge against the man who built him a 3 time super champion is beyond petty. Its borderline mental illness.

Why do people keep talking as if Jimmy would still be here, but Jerry chased him off? Jimmy didn't want to keep coaching. If he did, there was no shortage of teams that would have hired him immediately and given him full control.

He will announce putting him in the ROH soon. To take some of the attention away from Johnson.

at least as Cowboys fans, we proudly can say now that BOTH Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I take zero pride in Jerry.

Had I grown up a fan of any other team I'd have been laughing at him and his Texas-sized ego for the last 20 years.

I couldn't care less about "America's Team" or his net worth. Doing things "his way" has turned the Cowboys from contenders to pretenders.

Jimmy doesn't deserve it. He was nothing special as a coach or he would have made noise anywhere he went. Stop it.

Jerry is best defined first by the last 25 years. And secondly by his incredibly petty stonewalling of Jimmy from the ROH.

Troy Aikman said it best last year, “This is the Cowboys Ring of Honor, not the Jerry Jones Ring of Honor.”
