I have no issues with this. Kind of wanted him gone long ago.
Seemed a lot of soft tissue injuries after he came back. But I guess not as many as before him, not sure.

I know we won with him and NE won with him, and understood bringing him back. But about 3 or 4 years ago I was wanting him to go. Along with many other coaches.

name a NFL team that does not have their course of soft tissue injuries and assorted abrasions.

if anything, I've been always amazed that we were not hit as hard with longer term injuries, and the injury reserve related issues.
especially with our front line guys.

And again, I'll go by the testimonies of high heralded players (Michael Irvin) and winning programs (the Pats) that prompt how
Woicik got them through lingering injuries during the course of the season.

14 players on IR and 1 on PUP for this past season. Yes, I know he is not responsible as injuries happen.

After spending the last nine years as Cowboys director of strength and conditioning in his second tour with the franchise, Mike Woicik will not return on Mike McCarthy's staff, according to sources. Woicik has six Super Bowl rings, three with the Cowboys and three with the New England Patriots.

Why is it out of the question that McCarthy really liked Moore and wanted to keep him?
It is not out of the question.

But given Jerry's repeated history of "assigning" assistant coaches, and wanting so desperately to justify his football opinions with all of the hype and praise he threw on Kellen Moore's unnecessary rise last year to OC, claiming Moore to be "another McVay", I'm leaning towards Jerry pushing this on McCarthy.

Overall I'm not worried though. McCarthy will run and call his offense, so Moore will either learn how to actually call games and to be accountable, or he will be exposed.

what major players did we had on IR, besides LVE Crawford and McGoven ?
who else am I missing among key players?
Only other significant players I can think of is Anthony Brown
and I don't think McGovern's injury was a on the field playing injury. He was hurt even before
he hit the playing field. Freak injury.

and you have to watch the IR for certain players as its' a way of stashing players and adding and moving around players to active rosters. more than them being that truly a season ending IR'ed related.
and it's the nature of the business, teams do it around the league.

Kellen will get HC job in college next year and this is going to be his last year
I doubt he could get a top college job, and I'm skeptical that he would leave the NFL for a lower level college job.

I was just pointing out how many players. Doesn't have to be major players, and ALL players effect the depth.

Here's what happened. McCarthy told Woicik to lift him, Woicik couldn't, he got fired. McCarthy makes a great impression even on artificial turf!

Just about every person in football in general appears to think very highly of Moore. Regardless of what people say, he did a pretty good job last season, his first year calling plays. MM is on records stating that the biggest jump for coaches is from year 1 to year 2 as a OC or HC. Considering every other move that's happened, I'll lean towards saying mm decided to keep him. I will agree that it isn't totally out of the question that he was forced on him. At the end of the day, you are right, either way, the consequences are minimal because he isn't calling plays

Which has NOTHING to do with who, when, and where someone takes themselves out of a game. Nothing. Your attempt to connect the dots fails.

They were out of condition, which led to their being exhausted on the field too much and taking themselves out of the game too much.
He was their strength and conditioning coach, tasked with making sure they were in condition, not just strong enough. (aka didn't get gassed in 5 minutes)

So obviously either he wasn't doing his job right, or he didn't have the influence on them needed to stress the importance of conditioning. If they players are responding to what a coach is offering, you either get rid of the player or the coach. The team chose to get rid of the coach. If he wasn't doing his job right and overvalued muscle over conditioning, he needed to go too.

I don't understand why this isn't simple math for you. It's much easier to replace 1 coach than it is an entire team of players.

We don't know the dynamics of his presence on the staff. On the surface I don't love the move, and I hope MM is making it for the right reasons and not just to return a favor/hire an old friend. This is the kind of position that typically isnt purged like the others. MM has my support until proven otherwise.

McCarthy: So what do you do here?

Woicik: Well I make sure everybody works out, stays in shape, keeps their weight in check, that sort of thing.

McCarthy: Get the hell out of here right now. You sick SOB.

It's not. If I'm McCarthy i'm keeping a young talented guy who put out the #1 ranked offense in his first season. I want to pick his brain and combine it with the work that was done in the barn this past year. Question is who will call the plays

Who had "fewer injuries" than the Cowboys did last year?

Teriffic overall health is yet another in the long list of advantages and opportunities that Garrett squandered in 2019. The football gods smiled on this team, and yet the fools running it said "no thanks!"
yea, the eagles very easily had more to work through and did a better job of it.

Here's an early candidate to replace Woicik. McCarthy is intrigued:

Yep..

I'm not a fan of the McCarthy hire but let him do things his way and don't give him forever to process.

2 or 3 years of this guy at most. If it doesn't work then move on. We don't have all day.
