Have you ever seen a Maury Povich, Jerry Springer or similar type shows and the guests they have and think to yourself...at least my life does not suck as bad as those guys?

Sometimes when I read some posts and threads on here, it is like watching those shows. :)

Just like we go at any mediocre player not performing up to their contract.

Since there is a salary cap i'd like to actually get the best for money spent.

If I pay Russell Wilson prices i'd like to get Russell Wilson results.

I want to win a Championship and it is my belief that paying Dak a ton of money makes that goal much more difficult.

Spend 35 million on elite players. Not a fringe top 10 guy.
Whatever makes you feel better about your constant hate.

The Quincy, Hutchinson , etc era made us appreciate the Romo era.

The Romo era made us welcome in the Dak era.

We shall see what the Dak era leaves us yearning for.

Thus far it’s the same thing the other eras left us with.

Dak my man, you think they're coming after you now, wait until you sign on the dotted line paying you north of $30M+. Wondering what it'll look like? Take a peek on Zeke, DLaw, Jaylon Smith and Cooper bashing, add it all up and multiply it x 100.....in other words, better have some thick skin, you're going to need it. They're coming after you in a way that will make Qunicy Cater look like a choir boy. It's going to be brutal, relentless and downright nasty.

I hate to say this but I honestly believe this board, like any other Cowboys boards, are going relive the Quincy Carter vs Chad Hutchinson days except Dak's competition won't be another player. It'll be his contract and whether or not he's worth it or living up to it. The crazy thing about those days most fans either hated or loved Quincy Carter, no middle ground.

Honestly, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to it ...........
It's only the Romoholics that will continue to do the bashing...as usual.

the OP is already expecting Dak won’t deliver that is why he is making this post

if Dak leads us to 3 of next 5 NFCCGs and wins a couple of SBs how many fans would be saying he’s overpaid?

the fact is the OP thinks his homie ain’t getting us there so he’s making this preemptive thread
So are you saying Dak is incapable of winning aSB?

So are you saying Dak is incapable of winning aSB?

With a reasonable contract? Sure..

With a big contract? Our odds are terrible.

He should've gotten it done under his Rookie deal when they could build the team around him.

WE're about to pay the guy like he has won a Superbowl.. We did that with Romo who is a much more skilled passer then Dak.. How did that workout?

We have almost 0 playoff success and we want to keep making the same mistakes?

no, I’m saying the OP believes he won’t and is making preemptive excuses

just think about it

let’s say Dak gets paid 35-40 mill/year and then leads us to 3 NGCCGs and 1-2 SBs over the next 5 years, how many Cowboys fans would be saying: he was overpaid? Hardly any

the only way Dak gets vilified for being overpaid is if he doesn’t win a SB in the next 3-5 years despite making gobs of money

so when the OP says that Dak should get ready to hear criticism that he is overpaid, that assumes he will not win a SB

Once he's got that $100+ million guaranteed, I don't expect he'll care much about what we think.

He may crater under the pressure on gameday, but the other 357 days of the year, he'll just be a rich young man.

Of course we wouldn't care if we saw that.

But I feel very certain that we've already seen his best. This is what he is. Ain't getting any better than this.

In fact, his athleticism and elusiveness seems to be leaving him rapidly. He's going to be a pure pocket passer by default soon.

Scary.

Russ hasn’t made another sb since being paid. And The Dak led Cowboys beat his Seahawks in the playoffs. Just food for thought.

I don’t think his elusiveness is leaving him, I think he ran less for fear of getting hurt because he didn’t have a contract

Transition and gimme two firsts..... please please

The Transition Tag carries zero draft pick compensation. It ONLY allows the original team, in this case Dallas, the option to match any any offer. If they do not match the offer, they get nothing.

What you are thinking of is the NON-exclusive Franchise Tag. If we put THAT on him, then we get the right to match, and if we do NOT match; we get 2 first round picks from the other team. Honestly, this is what I would do if long term contract talks enter the realm of stupid money.

Dak barely made 4 million and this board crushes him. The only way it will get worse is if his fans change their tune. I am a fan of Dak and he gets 30+ I expect a Super Bowl and 30 + touchdowns. I also expect him to clearly be a top 10 quarterback.

Well, it's pretty much always been like this with QBs in Dallas. The difference now is that the QB salary cap vs the percentage of cap being taken up by the QB position dramatically effects the teams ability to improve other positions. This isn't Chad Hutchinson vs Quincy because to be honest, it was never Chad Hutchinson. It was Quincy vs Quincy. That's not the deal with Prescott. Dak doesn't have issues with Weed or leadership issues or the inability to actually grasp the Offense. Quincy had all of those things going on and it was pretty clear that he was a plane crash waiting to happen to anybody who was paying attention. Problem was, not all of our fan base was paying attention IMO. That's not Dak. Dak's issues are all about what he needs to be successful. Now, if he gets paid 40 mil annually, you may be right because then, it will be all on him and it will get ugly if we don't win. But then again, it should be that way. I understand the fan segment who say "Pay The Man" and "Get Your Money". I don't agree that this is the best approach for the team or for Dak, long term, with respects of football. But, I do understand that the longevity of any players career is limited and so, you have to make your money. But lets be honest, he's going to make more then enough money regardless of it he signs for 30 annually or not. I mean, it's not like anybody is asking him to play for 15 or 20 and if we are being completely honest, the average Salary for a Starting QB is much, much closer to 20 then it is 30, even if you take out Dak's current salary.

I said this early on, and I'm not the only one, Dak would be better served if he signed for less money and a shorter term. Sign a deal for 30 for 3 years, fully guaranteed. Do that and then come back to the well. If you do that, the entire fan base loves you and, all the pressure is not on you to win, no matter what. If you do that, you might be able to actually win a championship in that time or maybe at least a Conference Championship. Then you not only have an owner who wants to sign you, you have a fan base who is demanding the team resigns you and you pretty much have everybody on board with that sentiment plus, the new CBA is in place and you have Mahomeboy with a new deal already in place. I mean, it's stupid to act as if Dak is not getting paid or will not get paid. He is and he will. I just think it's a mistake to do it the way they appear to be trying to do a deal right now IMO.

this happens everywhere in all Pro Sports.. Many players get paid and when they dont live up to the deal, they get ripped on all media platforms and fans..this has been worse in this era dude to overexposure of media outlets 24/7 including SM.. may critics anonymously have internet muscles and say whey they want free of much blowback..

Daks well aware of the grumblings even now and zeke and the rest have lived through it, they go home and check that banking app and crack alittle smile at the jealous haters..

not much different in all Entertainment venues when Cruise or other big time actors get 20-50mil to do picture and it flops, they get abused for it..

I don't think the OP believes that at all. I think he knows not matter what happens, haters like you are going to ***** and moan like little girls especially after he signs the 30+ million contract he's earned and deserves. The only ones setting anything up is you haters.
