The only FA TE that I'd consider is Austin Hooper. To me that would make the most sense. Ebron is talented but there are injury concerns there and there's a lot of rumors that he quit on his team last year.https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/tight-end/
Here's an in depth look at this year's 2020 veteran TE class in Free Agency.
-it doesn't look that appealing and promising - aside from ATL's Austin Hooper, imo.
-Hunter Henry is brittle. Cant and hasn't stay healthy since he's entered NFL.
-what happened to Eric Ebron that he totally seemed to fall off the map this past year ?
-and Jared Cook is now one of those old timers that Stephen does not believe in pursuing and investing in.
Past tight end players seemed to be well utilized and work terrific under McCarthy in GB, such as Jared Cook, Jimmy Graham. So that tells that the TE will indeed play a big significant in this offense.
And very strongly assuming this is the end of the road for the GOAT Jason Witten and we can finally get that speed and big play ability that affects the entire field, is there anyone that are sold on holdover TE Blake Jarwin as the starting featured TE here ?
Or should we strongly consider that new featured TE in this upcoming draft ?
Not sure if there's anyone that is worth investing in FA market at the TE position.
Uh, he IS a playmaking TE.
"Should we remain with Jarwin or get a new featured TE"
Not even a question to be asked. The Boys have a young promising TE in Jarwin, who has the ability to attack D's when given the opportunity. His career average yards per catch is 11.6, with six touchdowns. He received an opportunity in '18 when Witty abruptly retired, but shared duties with Swaim. So his numbers were put on pause.
His first year of any significant playing time, was only his second year in the league. Don't forget Jarwin was still learning the ropes who came in as an undrafted FA and former WR. Jarwin started off slowly as one might expect, but by the end of the season, he had become Dallas’ top TE threat, culminating in a 3 TD performance in Week 16 against the Gnats. Remember that one?!
Once Witty returned, however, Jarwin’s snaps evaporated. The Boys need to look at Jarwin once again with a new staff in place.
Witty has 16 in, time for our future HOFer to make his own choice by stepping down before being told to do so.
Nothing wrong with Jarwin per se. Needs more playing time. He looked good last year and what little they used him this year. Athletic and coachable.Past tight end players seemed to be well utilized and work terrific under McCarthy in GB, such as Jared Cook, Jimmy Graham. So that tells that the TE will indeed play a big significant in this offense.

Always do your homework. We need to look at the position.
