Who cares about Jones, we don’t need a top corner that can cover if he can’t intercept the ball

I think once the deal on Dak is done the remainder of those who the Cowboys plan on keeping will get done in short order. Dak contract and how it is structured will give the Cowboys a clearer picture moving forward

We will probably extend Cooper before the deadline. Even if we dont, I can see them using both tags

Cooper is in their long term plans. I don't think Jones is

Did little research on transitional tag last week. For whatever since 2011 when the so-called poison pill was addressed, only 4-5 teams have used the tag. What's interesting is none of those teams used in an attempt to keep a top-level player. Mostly mid-level. In other words, I don't see this as an option for Cooper. Cooper with either get his deal done or franchise tag IMO.

I feel so ignorant in that I have no idea why everyone believes Byron Jones is a top caliber CB.

Hmm...I was thinking Cooper.

I agree. If Dak gets signed soon then you try to sign Cooper next. If you don't get Cooper signed then you slap the Franchise tag on him. I don't see any way that Byron Jones is on the team. Putting the Franchise or Transition tag on Jones would cost us over $16 million in CAP space this year and there is no way Dallas is paying that much for Jones. He will hit free agency and probably receive a contract from some team other than the Cowboys for around $13 million a year.

That comment by Stephen could either be a good thing, or the opposite.

At least, "heating up" seems to suggest getting more serious. We'll see.

Actually, things could probably heat up and still likely be lukewarm.

After the was they rolled over last season I don’t care if the entire team gets released. Especially Ewok and his record contract he held out for.

The division was theirs for the taking. They have no heart, they all seem to be too comfortable in their job security.
