Elvis came to these sessions with alot on his plate.
cut enough tracks to produce:
•some singles
•a christmas album
•a gospel album
•a pop album
but what Elvis wanted...was to do a folk album...similar to Elvis Country.

love the feel captured on this gospel song...brilliant recording.
Elvis would've included it on the folk album...but it was used on his outstanding gospel lp...he touched me.

another favorite.
this track would sadly not be used on the now album...but a later release in '73...ELVIS...also known as the fool album.

with these tracks laid down...the folk album was coming into form.
sadly...Elvis was having eye pain and was rushed to the hospital in nashville.

the march session came to an abrupt end.
as did Elvis' vision of a folk album.

later session dates were scheduled and the focus was on finishing the singles...the xmas lp...the gospel lp and the pop album...Elvis Now.

one of his absolute greatest performances.
he LOVED the blues...and everything comes together perfectly.
this cut would make alot of us wish he had cut a blues album.
released as a single to promote his 2nd xmas lp...it is a true essential.

title track was also a single release to promote the album.
his gospel music was the truest reflection of who he was as a man.
