Not a fan.

Time to move on from Joe Thomas and players like him. Average guys that you (coaches) like personally. I want talent or cheap (hungry) youth, especially at Linebacker. If Luke Giffard and Francis Bernard can't get the job done, go find young, cheap guys who can. The Eagles signed the former CFL DPOY 27-year old Alex Singleton off the street and got decent reps out of him. Thomas made just over a million last year; Singleton just under $500k. Before you scream it's just a half million in cap room, apply that decision to about 8 players and suddenly you have $4M in cap room. More than enough to sign an impact defensive free agent.

I know this will be an unpopular take but I'm okay moving on from L.P. He's been great but he makes a ton for a long snapper and there are UDFA's you can find that can get the job done (see the Punter position and Chris Jones). Mainly, I need to cut corners where I can so that we can re-sign Dak and add defensive talent. That's right, I'm pinching pennies all in an effort to get better and not act handcuffed by the cap like Stephen pretends to be.

Tartt's more of a box Safety and while I like him, I want to see Donovan Wilson in that role.

Reddick would probably play a similar role as Aldon as a backer/edge guy, so don't need them both.

Dunbar does nothing for me.

DJ Jones is a slightly better version of Antwaun Woods but will more than slightly more expensive.

Nixon is intriguing BUT that would mean we have spent a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the last 3 drafts on penetrating 3Techs.

Eichinberg is too stiff for me. Screams Right Tackle only.

Stokes is good. Nice pick.

Weaver does nothing for me.

Browning is a pet cat so of course I like that.

I'm luke warm on Grant.

Powell is a sneaky good pick. Former top high school recruit the finally figured it out as a Senior for Clemson this year.

I mean you could have talked me out of Thomas in like 3 words lol, just a cheap vet filler. But I don’t disagree on churning the roster. Same with LP...even tho Jerry will give him a contract until he retires.

As far as Nixon...I want a front 7 playmaker in the 1st round and I think he has as good a chance as pretty much anyone in this draft to be that. Prior mistake of Trysten Hill shouldn’t hold anything back. And Gallimore was a mid 3rd round pick...we should be happy if he sticks as a solid role player. Pretty irrelevant to me, because regardless of what we have/haven’t invested in DT the position is still a major weak point

Agreed.

I just don't want the same current cast of decision-makers picking a 3Tech in the draft, if that makes sense?

They've fallen head over heels in love with quick-penetrators who neglect their gaps, and then sit up in the owner's box shocked when our run defense sucks.

Give the vote to whoever was arguing Watt over Taco and Thornhill over Trysten, especially if that was the same person on both debates.

The other side of those debates was so colossally wrong they should not be permitted near the war room come draft weekend.
