Believe this is my first stab at a mock for the upcoming draft. Going to assume that we re-sign Kearse / Kazee / Wilson and lose Gallup / Gregory / Schultz to FA.

1 - Jermaine Johnson (DE) - losing Gregory to FA hurts, but I think Johnson is a legit top 25 talent. I think he'll check all the boxes for measurables / athleticism (have read a 40 in the 4.5s) and is coming off a monster season at FSU.

2 - Sean Rhyan (OG) - UCLA OT who best projects to playing G in the NFL. Nasty in the run game and hopefully can come in and be a plug and play G to take Williams place.

3 - Damone Clark (LB) - the more I dig into this LBr class the more I like mid round targets. Clark was a tackling machine that appears to have the modern day NFL LBr athleticism but I LOVE how physical he plays and how he can get off blocks. Think he can be our MLB of the future and allow Parsons to roam and Cox to be our WIll / nickel LBr.

4- Travis Jones (NT) - massive NT from UConn that will help provide quality depth to the DT room and ideally turn into our starting 1T. Massive dude that is + run defender that also gives you a little juice pushing the pocket. PFF is pretty high on him.

5 - Romeo Doubs (WR) - deep threat WR from Nevada who has showcased massive YPC numbers. Elite game speed and big play ability that can turn into a quality #3 for us if he can continue to improve as a route runner.

The research I do, the more I like Johnson and see him as a huge possibility at 24. His bend isn’t great but he’s a hell of a player that would fit in nicely if Gregory goes

Very good draft if we lose Gregory. Most people I see have Doubs going 2-3.

By the way we have 2 4’s.

Yea I don't know how to sort out a lot of these WRs...wouldn't be surprised if Doubs goes earlier.

Had no idea we have 2 4s...that's huge!

One of my favorite targets at 24.

I'm all about checking athleticism and production boxes in the 1st...I think he'll crush both after the combine.

A+...at #5 I prefer a RB, but Cowboys are gonna need a WR too. Overall, I'd be happy with this. Ryan at LG, sign me up. JJ is already starting to be target. Clark can do some things Parsons does just not like Parsons, but I good LB to pair with #11. Big Boi from UConn moves well to be that size.

I’d give up pick 24 to get out of Zekes contract…

Kidding kidding…if we could somehow move on from it I’d be down for fresh legs.

Picks 1-4 would be awesome.

Not big on Doubs, but in the 4th-5th round I’m not tripping.

The thinking is Zeke (released) n Pollard (UFA) will be free in 2023. Draft a RB this year, in a strong RB class, to takeover or share with Pollard if he's re-signed.

I like the top pick better here. Jermaine Johnson or Green out of A&M are my current top choices.

Good job with this draft. I know it is early but I think the Cowboys will be trying a 4th pass rusher to go along with Parsons, DLaw, and Gregory. To stop offenses now you have to rush 4 and have 7 in coverage. The secret is out on Johnson though. Bucky Brooks has him going at 19. I think he will be higher then that. Pass rushers will be over drafted because of Mahomes, Allen, Burrows, and Herbert.

Good draft
Hate the idea of more garbage (“rotational pieces”) at our most critical position at NT when there will be good prospects sitting there at 24

I’d rather pay Gregory decently
Draft Davis, Mathis, Ridgeway in rd 1

But Davis is a rotational player only. He will give you two downs and sit on passing downs.

Id love a NT at 24 if there was actually a 1st round talent available this year but there isn’t.

This years class is more guys like Gally and Osa.

First of all we don’t know that he can’t play all 3 downs

but even if that’s true that is 2 downs that will get the other team to 3rd and 7 instead of first and 10 and we can rush and stop them on 3rd down and get off the field

it will show them they can’t run the ball and make them one dimensional

I’m not against Davis. But teams know how to counter it. Alabama figured it out in the SEC championship game to go hurry up after any third and longs. He will be very team and scheme specific to his success.

“Davis won’t be drafted to get ten sacks a year. He likely won’t even get five in many years. Because of this, he won’t be too useful on third downs and was taken off of the field at Georgia on obvious passing situations. He’s not a bad pass rusher by any means because he still occupies two blocks, but he doesn’t have the refinement or pass rush arsenal to really strike too much fear. He’s a complementary piece on third-down rather than the focus” One scout reported

I’d be ecstatic if he had that and stopped the run effectively eating double teams

5+ sacks in a year as a 1T DT would put him in the elite category

Perhaps you can give me the list of all 1T DTs starting in the NFL with 5+ sacks a year
