I guess Ill say this and leave it at that. If Dak in fact has a mental blockaide in terms of playing this game and the cowboys brass know it then shame on them. All things point to an extension but if there are injury concerns there needs to be a focus on QB position in FA or draft. In fact they should draft a QB ever few years for competition sake. I take what these talking heads with a grain of salt.I hope the LB position is not a defensive liability. Everything points to this defense being elite and perhaps for this team to take the next step it may need to be.

interesting they say LB and RB as positions to watch

Sometimes I wonder about Broaddus. He wants to run the football more.  The last thing you want is your quarterback running the football against the 49ers dirty play defense and he breaks a leg or dislocates a shoulder trying to take on one of their linebackers.

and they are right about the fanbase. they are angry and hungry and Dak or Mccarthy both may pay a price if we fail again.
The thing is they probably should move on from both if a debacle happens but can’t….now they force their hand at QB unless they get a top 5 pick which should allow them to get a good prospect at QB.

Instead of worrying about goofball takes meant to fill boring summer hours lets talk raw facts.

Dak is 61-36 as a starter in his career. ~62% winning percentage.
His career TD% is 5.1 His Career INT% is 2.0
Those are all-time good numbers in TD to INT ratio. 9th all-time at 2.55 with Rodgers and Mahomes 1-2.
Better than Troy Aikman and better than Tony Romo.

*****Dak has the 2nd most TD passes in Cowboys history but only the 7th most INT.
--Dak could tie then pass Tony Romo for most TD passes all-time by a Cowboy as well as hit 25K passing yards week1.

Until the Cowboys go all in you can't expect to win a Championship by anything other than sheer luck(like getting to face a fake QB versus the 49ers as the Eagles did).

Thank you Jerry. he shoots himself in the foot. he has left the team and himself no choice and has cornered himself. they tried to play hardball a few years ago in not wanting to hand out an extra million a year, and then they had to franchise him and pay all of it back and more. if we had other options, then you can play tough ball. if you don't have options, then you are screwed.

this is Jerry and Stephen not drafting QBs, not developing QBs, paying it token attention with UDFAs and 7th round picks.

this is all on the GM

You need to stop comparing him to past generations. You are aware the game has changed right? Compare him to his own piers. I am sick of looking it up but his best season was his rookie season. Top 3 in the NFL in QB rating. Just outstanding. Ever since he is lucky to crack top 10 averaging somewhere around top 12. Couple that with some anemic post season performances and you have doubters.

We can make our OWN luck, just like the Eagles did....by pummeling the opposing starting QB and knocking him out of the game...and then we too would face the backup QB.

We just aren't physical enough...hence starting QBs usually feel great after playing us. Even when we sack them....it's a very "polite sack" and the QB is just fine.

The position is so mental that most QBs start peaking around 30 or so, unless they have a persistent injury history.

I have my issue with Dak, but I think he's going to have a WAY better year this year than last.

Barring big injury, other QBs that will have statistical bouncebacks will be Jackson and Stafford (easy to do them as they both had crap years last year)

Unfortunately the Niners have learned not to knock our starting quarterback out of the game…..they do quite well with him playing all 60 minutes

Dallas got that same opportunity! Dak ended up being the fake QB.

We led the league in sacks.
