My assumptions in this mock are that we bring back Gregory, Kearse and one of Kazee/Hooker, maybe on Schultz (would love to have him back). This draft kinda fell perfect cuz I don’t expect the first two picks to be there. If our D continues on the trajectory it’s on the one thing that makes us dominant on both sides of the ball is making our OL, especially our interior OL dominant again. That helps get the running game back to where it needs to be and gives Dak a clean pocket to step up into.

1) Ikem Ekwonu OG
2) Brandon Smith LB
3) John Metchie III WR
4a) Isaiah Thomas DE
4b) Cory Durden DT
5) John Whyle TE
6) Hassan Haskins RB

Love the first 3 picks but I doubt Ekwonu will be there when we pick.

If he is looked at more as an OG than an OT, then I think there is a possibility he falls to us. Tbh, if he falls to 20, I start calling to move up. Guy is going to be a walk in stud
I've read where he would be a stud guard but so so OT. Will see.

Cant see that happening. I think he has a big combine and takes off from there.

I like the first 3 picks but it worries me a ton that we’ve barely seen Joseph play at all and he was a 2nd round CB…if he’s going to be a good starter than this draft is solid.

We’re 9-4 with AB starting at CB and have a 2nd rounder waiting in the wings. I’d use 1/2 round picks on DE/DT/LB/S before CB.

JOHN METCHIE III WR ALABAMA | NFL DRAFT 2022 SCOUTING REPORT
40-YARD DASH TIME: 4.30-SECONDS
HEIGHT: 6-0 WEIGHT: 195 LBS
POSITION RANK: #6
GAMES PLAYED: 37
TOTAL SNAP COUNT: 1654

Unless you are saying because of the ACL he will never get his speed back.

Love the top three.
Love the position of the next three, but would probably have made different choices for DE, DT, and TE

Not sure why you are drafting a RB when Elliot can't be cut this year due to salary cap, and you have Pollard signed for another year.

You think drafting a late round depth RB has something to do with cutting Zeke?

It they’re there like they have been the last 5-6 games a 3rd RB might be a good idea.
6th round, Maybe he is a good pick. I guess I shouldn't have questioned it. They definitely could use another good RB -- they can usually find an average one on the street or when cuts happen. RB's have a short shelf life but are not that hard to find that can give you a couple years at adequate play, imo. I said it though because you pay Zeke 18M next year or you cut him and it costs them 30M ---- he isn't getting cut. I like Pollard and he is still under contract another year. So for a #3 back -- why use draft capital --- but then you reminded me it was the 6th round, so he would be a developmental project either way.

That’s fair…AB is actually having a pretty good year but he’s a FA after next year and the fact Joseph hasn’t sniffed the field is worrisome.

We’re also bottom 10 in the league in pass yards allowed. I guess it heavily depends on what we do with Gregory and all these Short term FA Ss we signed.

It’s only worrisome if you are a worrier. Sometimes draft picks (even picks in the 2nd round don’t start day one). Not many people in the know expected KJ to start early in his career. I believe he only started 11 games in college. AB was also a FA before last season. We can resign him if we choose to.

Sure, I’m all about letting rookies develop but the dude isn’t playing…like at all.

So yea, CB is an area of concern. We could resign AB but he’s going to cost a lot more than most people on here would guess.
