It is that time of the year. The Mothership Site started their 20 questions leading up to TC.
It is getting closer fellow fans.

All 3 say CeeDee, but we all pretty much know that already. They all have good points. Mickey lays out the most logical with some numbers as to why CeeDee may sign something close to what Justin Jefferson got.

Micah said he is willing to wait his turn.

Cee Dee’s the obvious choice since he’s holding out. Can’t go too far in training camp without him on the field training.

If CeeDee does hold out the first weeks of TC. It is more reps for the young WR”s.
But he still needs to be there to get the timing down with the QB’s Heading into the season.

What if Jerry wants Dak to play out this year to determine whether or not to resign him to an absurd amount? Do you sign Lamb prior to that?

Good question. But define absurd amount. Within reason of the other top WR's contracts. All are absurd, but if in line then it is a matter of fans perceptions.

I think you do. You want a top WR here for the next QB. If you let CeeDee go, and Dak. Then you have to replace both, and that may take a few drafts unless you get lucky. Or Trey is the QB you go with. And we as fans don't know what he can do. Though the coaches may feel what he can do.

An absurd amount can be defined by its absurdity. Trevor Lawrence got a 5 year deal averaging 55M a year. However, they have 7 years to spread that contract out. The average is probably closer to 42M a year.

On the flip side, if Dallas gives Dak the same contract right now, they have 6 years to spread out that contract +95 million. Which is an average of 61 million. Third contracts can be very difficult. In this case we're looking at giving a QB that is not elite a higher than top market value contract. That's absurd. In 4 years they'll have to make that same decision with Trevor. But I don't see a reason to pay a WR 35M a year if you don't have a QB. Like you said, it could take years.
