Another question. we discussed. I swear thy get their ideas from this forum 90% of the time.

Consensus is Ferguson until Schoonnmaker can show why he was the 2nd round pick. If he can.

As Mickey put it though, they all will contribute as the Big 10 Attack. The 4 top TE's are from the big 10.

The concept for that group is not a foreign language and exactly what Bill Parcells was looking for throughout his coaching career.

Schoonmaker is a TE drafted in the 2nd round.....so that automatically eliminates him.

It will be the guy that can avoid injuries.

It doesn't matter they will all play a role and be used in different scenarios. I doubt we have a true te1 this year.

My early money bet says it will be Ferguson starting out early in the season, while Luke Schoon adjusts to the NFL nuisances of blocking, catching, NFL pace ( many players have testified about the difference in pace and speed at the NFL level vs college) as well as Schoon having to learn the NFL offense, gain rapport with the QBs.

With both Ferguson and Hendershot having a year of NFL experience and an offseason program under their belts, while having displayed what they have to offer
there should not be a pressure for the rookie to have to be forced to start right away.

If his blocking skills are as advanced and NFL ready as it's advertised to be, Luke could get a look at the No.2 role at TE... aahh but that could threaten the reps and playing time
of Hendershot in that sense.

My hunch is Ferguson as well....at least to start. But they will use multiple two TE packages and rotate them in and out that starting really doesn't matter. Ferguson, Hendershot, Schoon will all get a shot.

I'm not a betting man, but if I was, the first play of the season will be Lamb/Cooks as our wideouts, Jake/Schoon as our TEs with Pollard in the backfield. We're going to play smashmouth football.

I hope Schoon wins the job because of impressing everyone. Hopefully he will break the 2nd round curse. If we plan on playing smashmouth, I like I hope and pray we do, he will win the starting job.

Who is smashing the mouth from the RB position? I see a couple of race cars, some unknown rat rods and no 4WD. Unless Luepke is ready to make the team and "Lock in"

I wonder how many caught the reference to the history with Escobar, Bennett & Fasano?

I doubt there are many rookie RB's and TE's that will play "smashmouth" football on opening day. Most likely, their preliminary goal is survival.

Brother, I meant our O-line including the TEs I mentioned. Emmitt wasn't a smashmouth RB but those lines he ran behind did some smashing.

I would have bet on Schoonmaker but with his foot issue I don’t think he does much this year. Hopefully I’m wrong. Lynsfrac injuries are always usually a problem.

Schoon was drafted there for a reason, and MM needs him to play a vital role in this offense, early.
If he can't then we have Ferg and Hendershot in 2nd year which is not horrible insurance to have.
