Phillies are far and away the best in the NL. My thinking was the Yankees were the best in the AL but they would have a lot of trouble in a 5 game series where they had to face the best pitcher in baseball twice. It was a dangerous situation for them. However, last night's gift from above means they will only have to face Verlander once, so the dynamic shifted somewhat.

Just yesterday their owner was complaining that their current stadium is outdated and they need the government to help pay for a new facility.
