Cowboys landed 4 good starters from the 2020 Rookie Class
  • WR CeeDee Lamb - 1st round (2x Pro Bowl, 2nd team All-Pro 2022)
  • CB Trevon Diggs - 2nd round (2x Pro Bowl, 1st team All-Pro 2021)
  • C Tyler Biadasz - 4th round (1x Pro Bowl)
  • RT Terence Steele - Undrafted
Backups on team
  • DT Neville Gallimore - 3rd round
  • RB Rico Dowdle - undrafted
Draft picks no longer with the team
  • CB Reggie Robinson - 4th round (currently playing in XFL)
  • DE Bradlee Anae - 5th round (currently with Jets)
  • QB Ben Dinucci - 7th round (currently with Broncos)
Getting 4 starters, including 3 who've made the Pro Bowl is a very good outcome in any draft. Cowboys need to sign all 4 of these players to long-term 2nd contracts.

Diggs leads the NFL in interceptions and pass break-ups since he entered the league. There is no possibility the Cowboys don't try to sign him to a long-term deal.

What concerns me is that most will focus on locking up Diggs and Lamb, but tying up Biadasz and Steele for the long-term is just as important. The Cowboys have very quickly changed out 60% of their Oline, and Tyron Smith is in the Final year of his contract. Zack Martin, although still playing well, is the oldest starting player on the roster. The Cowboys need to lock up their young Olinemen to keep the Cowboys competitive in the future.

If you look at the salary value of the players, I think we got about 60m (per year) worth of players.I feel like the line is somewhere around 25m give or take 5m depending on where you draft. This draft is well above that.

Get your heads out of your butts. Diggs was a top 5 CB most of last year and was lockdown for most of the season until he got tired of not being targeted and started to get a little risky.

He’s new to the position and has made leaps and bounds each season. He’ll likely have a better year this year than last, and y’all wanna throw away the only top flight corner we’ve had since Deon because he isn’t a physical run defender?

One bad playoff game doesn’t mean you don’t resign an All-Pro. Stop being emotional.

It also illustrates that our expectations shouldn't be so high that we expect to hit on every pick in any draft. Just doesn't happen.

Probably at least three players in this year's draft will fail. Doesn't mean the team drafted poorly; it's just part of what happens. And probably a UDFA or two will prove to be worth keeping.

No possible way Cowboys are going to afford all of: Lamb, Diggs, Biadasz and Steele.
Yep, it's never the top end talent that you have to worry about finding CAP money for it's the 2nd layer Steele and Biadasz's, who know if they hit the market they can command more money than if they stay in Dallas.

Thanks for sharing...

Whenever you can hit on not only two starters in 2020.. but end up with 2 definite pro bowlers ...and an alternate pro bowler ...and another in Steele that could well
end up being a pro bowler RT too (undrafted or not) ..then that a definite plus draft class.

Kudos to McClay & Co.
