Final Combined QB Stats rankings for 2022 Regular Season

This stat combo pretty much delivers the league MVP every year.

It's looking like Patrick Mahomes will be MVP based on this and its history,,,but nothing is a lock.

Don't get too worked up over this. Just data.

Combine and average the QBs' rank of the following two categories and tally.
  1. Differential: Total TDs (Passing/Rushing TDs ) - Total Turnovers ....This reduces bus-driving a little bit
  2. Standard NFL Passer Rating

This is where we stand after 18 weeks (17 games)

RED are NFC Playoff QBs
BLUE are AFC Playoff QBs
  1. Mahomes (AFC Pro Bowl...MVP front-runner)
  2. Hurts (NFC Pro Bowl...MVP candidate, missing late season games may hurt)
  3. Burrow (AFC Pro Bowl...MVP candidate)
  4. Tagovailoa (injuries hurt his chances)
  5. Allen (AFC Pro Bowl, maybe MVP candidate but long shot...imo)
  6. Goff (very good year, prob deserves NFC Pro Bowl ahead of Cousins)
  7. G Smith (NFC Pro Bowl....career year)
  8. Lawrence (future monster)...
  9. Garoppolo (note Purdy would be 8th if played enough games to qualify)
  10. Herbert (pulled it together )
  11. Cousins (tie 11th..NFC Pro Bowl...two disaster games hurt him)
  12. D Jones ( tie 11th..you read that right..6 rushing TDs helped)
  13. Brady (climbing)
  14. Rodgers (historically low for him)
  15. Dalton (you read that right, part 2)
  16. Tannehill
  17. Jackson (prob would be 2-3 spots with 17 games)
  18. PRESCOTT (prob would be 2-3 spots higher with 17 games)
  19. Fields
  20. Murray
  21. Carr
  22. Mariotta
  23. Brissett
  24. Heinike
  25. M Jones
  26. R Wilson (his worst season by far)
  27. Wentz
  28. Watson
  29. Mayfield
  30. Mills
  31. Pickett
  32. Ryan

Players not included due to not of enough games played, etc:
Darnold, Purdy (would be 8th if allow his stats for 7 games to be enough), White, Stafford, Rush, K Allen, Huntley, Rypien, Trubisky, Watson, McCoy, Minshew and more...)

Here are the prior week's results
post week 17

I can look up the number for anyone if you are curious, but this lists the players that started 10 games or more.

Dak is too high and if he played all 17 games he has 20+ INTs and would be lower, not higher.
As long as your TDs - Turnovers are positive (his were +8) then you project to add a few points with more games. But who knows, maybe his Passer Rating would keep dropping and it would've balanced out or even lowered him. Who knows for sure.

I don't do this thread to pile on any one player.

We know his TDs-Turnovers were a sore point...plus 8 could be worse but it sure isn't very good
People here talk about Stafford's 17 picks last year, but the dude had 43 Total Tds....so a massively positive differential and more than 3 times better than Dak this year..

Anyway, Mahomes had an insane +33 differential this year and a top 2 rating to boot.

In 97 career games he has 65 interceptions.

So exactly what is your projection based on?
Basic math tells you that if he had 15 INTs this season in 12 games he's averaging 1.25 INTs per game.

If he played all 17 games this season at that rate then he would have thrown 21 INTs.
