I did this the last few years.
It pretty much delivers the league MVP every year.

Don't get too worked up over this. Just data.

Combine and average the QBs' rank of the following two categories and tally.
  1. Total TDs (Passing TDs + Rushing TDs) - Total Turnovers (Interceptions + Lost Fumbles)
  2. Simple Standard NFL Passer Rating

There's still a long way to go but here is where we stand after 13 weeks (recall many have not played 11 or 12 games though)
  1. Mahomes (MVP candidate)
  2. Tagovailoa (MVP candidate)
  3. Hurts (MVP candidate??)
  4. G Smith (look at Geno!)
  5. Burrow (rising fast)
  6. Allen
  7. Garoppolo
  8. Brady
  9. Carr
  10. Herbert
  11. Jackson
  12. Rodgers (usually at the top, so giant dropoff so far)
  13. Tannehill
  14. Goff
  15. Dalton
  16. Lawrence (big improvement from last year)
  17. Prescott (would prob be top 12 if he played 11-12 games, using the per game data)
  18. D Jones
  19. Cousins (much worse than last 2 years)
  20. Fields (7 rushing TDs really helped)

Very interesting. Jimmy G #7. He played with an injury last season. He has been playing well this season post operation. Lawrence could be a bit of a sleeper for next season given his improvement.

Mahomes already has 30 total TDs after only 11 games played. (8 total turnovers)
Probably going to get to 50+ TDs

Lawrence was in an awful situation last year. Pederson has helped, but it's going to take time.
Some of those throws he made last week in their win vs the Ravens were pretty insane though. High ceiling.
That Jags WR group is pretty marginal though. Not as bad as Green Bay's or post injuries Rams, but pretty weak.

Agree. They need to improve their receiving corp

Very underrated move was them trading for Ridley who was a solid WR1 type in his last full season.

At the very least between him and Kirk they two 1B types. Them plus the Joneses could be a B+ group. They’ll probably draft another guy as well. Could also use an impact TE.

Forgot about that. Upgrades them at the very top if he picks up where he was when good.
Zay Jones is finally playing decent too.

  1. Ridley
  2. Kirk
  3. Z Jones
  4. M Jones (though he's getting old)

Maybe draft a big bodied WR

Yup, exactly what I’m thinking. Shoot if they hit on an alpha WR like Pickens then that’s a dangerous group. Ridley as your 2 and Kirk as your 3 is a matchup nightmare.

Perhaps Lawrence is an outsider for MVP next season as the defense could develop into a stacked unit and they could easily own the division as the Titans have their limitations, Colts are a mess and the Texans are simply embarrassing. They need to clean up some bits and pieces but they are an interesting team.

"Outsider" being the key word

The arc is pointing up though....and who knows what the limit is.
