The Eagles and Cowboys spent more than any of the other 30 teams. Always knew undrafted rookies were a high priority but not this high, like the top 3 in the league as far as resources and finding players.

The Cowboys go a good job at finding UDFA gems. Since they aren't big spenders in FA, it's important to add resources on the cheap and hope they develop into rotational players or even starters.

It’s kinda logical to go after UDFA you like. A bigger talent pool than your 6th or 7th round picks since there’s only one each of those
They key is hitting on a guy who can contribute

If you are a player and sitting there in the 7th round. Would you want to be selected or not. Then can pick and choose what team to go to if they come calling.
I guess it may mean more $$$, signing bonus and the idea you were drafted. But what if the Colts select you but if un-drafted you could possibly sign with KC.
Yes chances are better to make the Colts or a team that needs players over a team like KC where the roster is deep.

How much difference in talent is there between a 7th round pick and an UDFA.

Also keep in mind, years ago when the draft was 12 rounds. A 5th to 7th round pick was considered be be decent as opposed to a 9th to 12th round pick. (Larry Brown come to mind).
Now fans consider a 6th or 7th round pick a scrub.

12 round draft, Drew Pearson was an UDFA...man how far down did that feel. Dallas always chasing that next Drew Pearson.
