2024 is a draft with an eye on 2025?

It appears this draft is more about 2025 than 2024. It just hit me......... none of the players seem ready to offer much impact this season but quality starters by 2025.

Round 1 Pick 29 - OT Tyler Guyton Oklahoma................................probably starts but needs a year
Round 2 Pick 56 - DE Marshawn Kneeland Western Michigan.......DLaw's replacement ( he has 1 year left on his deal). He can mentor this kid
Round 3 Pick 73 - OG/OC Cooper Beebe Kansas St...........Could be our starting center but he has no experience. So we are probably looking 2025 before he's ready.
Round 3 Pick 87 - LB Marist Liufau Notre Dame...........
Round 5 RB??? Do you think it's a coincidence they are likely bringing Zeke back????? I don't.....just like DLaw, Zeke will be used as a mentor for a late-round RB.

Drafts aren't really for immediate needs. It's team building. Guyton and Beebe will probably start this year, but there will be some growing pains

You are saying pretty much the same thing. So far, the draft seems consistent with this year's off-season focus on 2025 rather than 2024.

Exactly, I think cowboys plan all along has been to see if trey lance can be our starting QB this year, put pressure on Dak where Dak demands to be traded in preseason, if trey lance fails, you probably won't win alot of games this year so you can get a top QB in 2025 draft, and with picks from Dak trade and about 100 million in salary cap money in 2025 to spend on free agents, you can get about 3 top free agents and by 2025 our offensive line will be fixed with guyton OT at lot, Tyler Smith at left offensive guard beebee at center and Terrance Steele at right offensive tackle

Leeland will replace DeMarcus at left defensive end, with draft picks for Dak trade, 100 million in cap money you can get a top right offensive guard, because Zach Martin will be 34, and 2024 will be martins last year as well as DeMarcus

Then if a player like Charles Haley or deion sanders comes available you can go get them via draft picks in Dak trade or free agency with about 100 million in cap money for cowboys in2025

I've seen a lot of a suggestion/theory on this board, that the Cowboys are somehow building towards 2025.

These morons do not have a tangible plan.

I'm curious what you will all say when Cap Boy refuses to entertain free agents again next year.

2026!

Can see the 100s of posts now when they extend Dak. Will be epic.
