I usually don't care much about schedules, in fact I have always thought it is silly to look at a schedule before the season begins and make judgements in advance. But I am just noticing how imbalanced this year was. Has the NFL ever had seasons where teams played an odd number of games before last year? Definitely not during the existence of this franchise. Ok so it will alternate, this year we had 9 road games. I get that. Next year we will have 9 home games.

But we also had 5 vs the AFC and the home road split on those 5 were very much to our disadvantage
Home Pats Jets
Road Bills, Dolphins, Chargers

I guess I will finally be eager to see the new schedules when they come out next spring. It better be in our favor in 24.

All I know is that the Eagles have played all the good teams at home the last 2 years, with one exception: Chiefs this year. Of course the Chiefs dropped the winning TD, along with 2 other critical drops, to give the Eagles the win. Some really bad luck for us, especially since we are sucking on the road this year (bad timing to suck on the road). Here's to better times next year.

Never have I witnessed such whining about the schedule all season long like this one. Are people running out of things to make excuses for when we once again don't take care of regular season business?
oh shut up man. I am one person who never made a comment about the schedule before. Why do people like you refer to something they dont care for as :whining"? Thats such a lazy arrogant and misused word. Go away

One of the things this forum is for is venting and whining. It happens in all fan forums. Do you not realize that? Accept it and move on.

You were right before. It's always pointless to look ahead so early.

For example, we all thought hosting the Jets was a good thing. In reality, without Rodgers, we could have traveled there and won also.

But I will say, the 17 game season is BS. Everyone should have to play a neutral site game. Teams should not get an extra home game.

Several teams do. But I'd rather have an extra stateside away game than a play-date in Europe.

I too have had issues with the schedule and I have been assured by everything I read that it is pretty much determined by programming. But I am confused about how the home and away games were decided.

For instance, the NFC East played the AFC East this year. The Bills finished 1st in their division and the Dolphins 2nd. So how did the Cowboys get both of those teams on the road and the Eagles who finished 1st in the east got the 2 best teams in the AFC East at home? Why not one at home and one on the road? to kind of even things out. In fact, that is how they scheduled the NFC West teams. Dallas got the 49ers on the road and the Seahawks at home. The 49ers and Seahawks finished 1 and 2 in their division.

I would love to get an explanation for why the Cowboys got the two best AFC East teams from last year on the road while the first place Eagles got them both at home.

Here is your explanation, just like it was explained to all the other people complaining about the schedule: IT IS PREDETERMINED YEARS AND YEARS IN ADVANCE.

The last time the NFC East played the AFC East, we had Miami and Buffalo at home and the Eagles had them on the road. Therefore, this time around the home/away schedule was reversed. In 4 years, the Eagles will have Miami and Buffalo on the road and we will have them at home. Just call me Nostradamus, lol. The only thing that takes the place you finish into consideration is the odd 17th game.

No. Lack of knowledge and finding conspiracy excuses for why you "didn't really take an L" is what's wrong with the country now. Mind your manners, punk. Lol.

We will get an extra home game in 2024. Against an AFC for however they set up the rotation.
The schedule is predetermined in advanced as to what teams we play and if home or away.

It is how the schedule is laid out that fans should be upset with. Like we always finish on the road 80% of the time, as well, finish with more road games than home games.

Actually over the past 4 or 5 years they have not been as bad as they used to be as to the overall lay out.
Who knows, in 2024, we may get the better teams at home. Would need to look it up to see.

Actually here it is.

And if you want to look at other teams.

Looks like the Eagles schedule luck may turn next season. Just for the record, I have never said there was a conspiracy. I just complain at how lucky the Eagles have been with their schedule the last 2 years (all tough games at home while we play all tough games on road). I like the setup for next season much better.

All I know is this will be our third season with 5 losses.
If we're lucky.
We have 2 teams within our own division that absolutely stink and the other one is slightly above average.
We've been fortunate with team's outside of the conference as the most of them have been below average.

It's time to look inwards if you want change.

Starting this week can we play near perfection against a above average team?
I guess what I'm saying is it's not the schedule stupid.

If you go to a non-divisional opponents house that's in the other Conference and play it means they came to you 4 years earlier and it goes back and forth. That takes precedent over who was in 1st or 2nd.

A 1st place schedule means you will face other 1st place teams in other divisions than the one you're assigned to play every team in. It has nothing to do with the division you're assigned to play against.

On Sept 19, 2019 Miami came to Dallas and we won 31-6
On Nov 28, 2019 Buffalo came to Dallas and we lost 26-15

So it was our turn to go to their houses.
