It’s way too early but who cares if you love draft day. Here are my position assessments for draft day next year.
Top needs (not necessarily the order I draft them, but based on need):
RB, WR, MLB, 3T, TE
Position assessments:
QB: Whether you love him or hate him, Daks here to stay, BUT I want either Lance or Rush gone next year and I want to roll the dice on a guy. We should be drafting a qb every two years until we strike gold
RB: Probably the top need but not in the 1st round if you can help it. We probably need 2
FB: Leupke or bust.
WR: I trust that someone between Tolbert, Brooks, or Flournoy will emerge, but I want a true slot receiver or blazer. Might use my 1st pick here if a CeeDee situation happens
TE: If we took LaPorta over Mazi, we’d be loving life, but alas, here we are. I’d love solid late TE pick
OL: I actually think they have a great OL. All they need is another swing tackle or an apprentice behind Steele. I think Bass or Ball could take over for Martin when it’s time
DT: We really need another 3T and frankly another 1T, or we need a free agent carousel again
DE: I like our edges, Kneeland looks like DLaw and Sam Williams will be back. Maybe add one more guy for insurance
LB: Overshown and Liufau are the future but I’m ok using a top 3 pick here if the right guy is there
CB: Nope, just draft in the 5th and enjoy another all pro. We have 4 outstanding corners.
S: Nope, we have an embarrassment of riches here as well. I only draft one if a true ball hawk center fielder is there
