2027 Will Be the Year

I won’t be surprised if this defense is 25th or top 10. I think the defense will be fine, assuming we don’t have a serious key injury.

Offensively we could sputter if Javonte suffers an injury. We seem very thin on depth/talent at RB.
I do believe Blue could grow into the role. I'm not expecting much from him based on what we've seen so far, but I almost feel like it may take an injury to Javonte for him to mature. I think he's the type that may have to suffer some setbacks before he throws himself into the role enough to succeed. That seems to be how it went in Texas. He only showed he could be the man when he had to.

This guy is not going to be a starter thrown into the mix if Javonte Williams goes down you're missing Davis who can be more of a three down back but people keep acting like Phil Moffa can't play go look at his college highlight and I know that can't be everything we use but I watched them in practices training camp and preseason before he got hurt He can this version of Williams..

He has that kind of physicality he will be the one that could step up then they brought in a guy from Tulsa same thing The guy has the frame in the game to be that physical guy that you need and then Blue and Davis are the other guys but Davis would be the long reliever in a game that maybe Phil's not in not active and they are so he would be the one to step up.

To give honorable mention for the guy that keeps being forgotten that can be a running back short yardage physical guy does a decent job at catching the ball his name is Hunter the fullback if we use the fullback the way San Francisco does and some other teams do even though they were forgotten position,

In my opinion I think that he would be first up and Brian Schottenheimer's mind at taking over and getting a chance to fill Williams role if he goes down for a while..

However that would mean a heavier rotation on running back by committee But I think we have those guys here I don't think there's any reason to go outside of this room right now until the end of preseason let's see what this looks like..

Just have the vibe that Phil has something and you can mark this down if I'm wrong or right I just think that he can be that guy he won't be spectacular he's a steady physical player first downs obviously rundowns and then you would pull them and some guys like Davis and blew behind him..

Just get this weird vibe that he could be the guy that wouldn't be that big a drop off from Williams..

We have a very very similar game...

I think it’s somewhat unlikely that we carry more than 3 RBs on the active roster. Two could obviously go to the PS, but 2 RBs is a high percentage of the PS.

Seattle didn't have the 32nd ranked defense in 2024. They had the #11 ranked defense so going from #11 to #1 isn't the gigantic leap some expect from the Cowboys next season.

Their DC, Aiden Durde was in his 2nd season in 2025 which helps to prove my point. The 2027 season will be Parker's 2nd as Cowboy DC.

The Seattle defense had one rookie starter. The Cowboys will start at least three rookies on defense in 2026.

The Seahawk's situation was in no way similar to what the Cowboys will be trying to do.

The Seahawks didn't exactly "rise from the ashes" in 2025. Their 2024 record was 10-7.

You are right about the game being different from the 70's and 80's. They didn't have the stack of rules designed to keep players safe while increasing the scoring.

In the 70s and 80's the Pro Bowl featured the best in the NFL playing an actual game of genuine football and pee-wee league flag football.
blah blah bah blah....+6500 is all you need to know. Last year's seahawks +6500 to win it. This year currently has Dallas at +2500..... so who do the odds makers see as having a better chance prior to the season starting, last years seahawks or tis years cowboys?

Throw all the BS about last years seahawks up here you want. Those odds are simply the odds.

Mafah rushed for 59 yards on 15 carries last preseason (3.9 per carry). He runs with physicality, but I didn't think his performance was all that impressive. Maybe he'll be able to build on it.

I'm not sold on any of our backs backing up Javonte. Davis did average 4.8 per carry as the primary backup, but I'm not sure how he'd fare in a bigger role.

That's because he didn't have enough runs I'm telling you the more you give a man the ball the more he'll happen to hit that one that happens to be blocked really well and get you that 15 yarder that ups it to 4.1 yards per carry you do understand that right with physical runners I bet you didn't know this and I don't want to call you out but Eddie George that was pretty much his every day average And then I'll come into our new era Naji Harris for the most part his whole career was under four yards per carry his whole entire career and you're all over Mafa with very limited opportunities to hit that hole You know the magical hole that you have to keep pounding it and then boom there's the whole They're not always there.

Course it's not impressive i'm told you the projections and potential is there he runs the same way How about giving them 15 carries in one single game and you'll find that uh oh look at that there are a couple 10 to 15 yard runs it gets that average up not three or four carries in preseason and in the next game four or five carries and then he gets hurt and he had 15 total carries that is not how you judge a man because we judged one Javonte Williams before he ever stepped on the field his whole career he had very average numbers just like that it was being brought up in preseason and who had egg on their face I bet you were 1 of them...LOL.
