Welcome to the Garrett offense. I've been saying it forever that Garrett is oblivious to play-action. If the Giants are making every effort to stop the run as he says, then you would suspect him to employ play-action instead of just saying, we need to pass...Hoofbite;3128933 said:Dallas didn't even really utilize play-action. I didn't get all the way through but I think there were only a few plays with play action. One was the beautiful play to Roy. A second was actually play action to the wrong side, there was no back to fake to and another was a little flare that ended up being behind Felix. I think I remember seeing a rollout by Romo off the fake as well
Romo bails out the coaching... I don't see how anybody can blame him. The reality is, when Romo is having a sub-par game, the pathetic coaching magnifies the medicority, which makes Romo look worse than he actually is playing during those games. Look back at the Denver game when Romo threw the pick trying to go to Hurd. People fail to realize it was Romo buying time with his feet on the 4th down to keep the series alive. Against the Falcons, Romo was incredible in shaking defenders in the red-zone...HowAboutThemCowboys;3129035 said:I agree. This is no rap against Romo, it's just the fact that this team needs it's QB to play near flawless ball in order to win against good teams. Not fair to Romo, but that's just the way it is.

Personally, I'd ditch the shotgun as well. I know the formation is all in vogue with the Pats running it practically every play and all, but I just don't think it works as well in Dallas. I'd keep Romo under center for every play unless we have to go shotgun to score quickly. Seems to me that the less you telegraph your intentions to the other team the better.Hoofbite;3128933 said:Ditch the Wildcat, Razorback, Crapshoot formation. It just doesn't get the job done. Two, maybe three plays all year? Shelf it.
