I remember listening to Bill Cowher talk about how they liked to play the Colts using a Combination of of a 3-4/4-3 Hybrid kind of scheme.

He said the would use different looks at the LOS and Bring either 3 rushers or 5 rushers. He said something to the effect that they would not get any more pressure on the QB with 4 rushers than 3 so they would only rush 3 or 5.

My question is this, do we have the players to play this kind of Hybrid Defense?

I would think we do since Ellis is a born down lineman but showed he could also do well as an OLB.

Any way, just a random thought while looking at our roster.

this is pretty much what the Cowboys did against the Colts this year. A lot was 3-4, but there was some 5-2 and 4-6 mixed in as well.

We played the Colts the same was as we played every other team (in terms of defensive fronts). On first and second down there was a 3-4 lineup. On 3rd downs there was a 4-2-5 lineup.

Watch the game again. This was probably Zimmer's finest day as a Cowboys DC. There was a some 5-2 when you saw Carpenter and Ware both rush the QB at the same time.

That's a blitz. We actually blitzed less in that game than other games.
