The Cowboys play 3 of their first 5 games against the Buccaneers, Bengals and Rams - the last 2 Super Bowl winners, and the runner up from this past season's Super Bowl. Even if they had a fully healthy Oline, the first month of the season is tough.

The entire remainder 12 games of the season, the Cowboys only play 3 other playoff teams 4 times - Titans, Eagles and Packers.

I like having a tough schedule but it would have been better to face the Bucs, bengals and rams later in the season when this team has had more time to develop. It may be ok anyway. Playing tough teams is exactly how you know what your team is.

I'm fine with a slow start and not having a spotlight on us. We are inevitably going to suffer defeats through the season, as are all teams of all standards. I reckon we can hit 11 wins which should win us the division, being 2-3 early on won't diminish our chances of doing so and nobody will be looking at us as a threat. As the season progresses, young players and rookies will improve and we get Gallup back so it's reasonable to think We shall be a stronger unit after 17 games than at the beginning of the season.

I disagree. I think is to the Cowboys advantage to play these teams before these teams reach their full potential.

that’s exactly why the Cowboys first game last year against the Bucs was even close……if they played the Bucs in week 14 the Bucs would have wiped the floor with them.

Dallas 1st half of schedule is tough, last half easier.
NYG schedule pretty much mixed throughout the year. But slightly easier the last half.
Philly schedule close to same as NYG, but slightly harder later on in the season.
Washington schedule fairly even through, seems their toughest part in the middle of the season

No team seems to have an advantage over the other.
Other that we play 3 1st place teams, but that is how it works. If you want to get to the SB, man up and beat these SB contending teams. Show you belong.

All teams will be going through some adjustments the 1st 2 to 4 games anyway. This is where coaching come in to play, how well they prepare, then how well they adjust.
A 4-2 start would actually be pretty good.

True , but losing at least 3 of our first 5 games might not really be a good measurement of what this years team could become .

And will this team be able to recover from a very slow start. I’m not one to normally support moral victories but I think in this case will be important not to get embarrassed and blown out which could cause a spiraling down effect more difficult to overcome .

Dak is up for the challenge. Like he said himself... you want to be the best you have to beat the best. Besides seven hard games out of seventeen leaves us at 10-7.

Before Tyron’s injury looking at the schedule I felt we’d be 0-2 then probably 4-4 at the bye. And still be able to win 10 maybe 11 games.

Unless our OL is a total collapse I still think we can contend for division and or WC with 9 or 10 wins .
