Also because Jerry got talked out of Johnny Manziel and couldn't make a trade for Paxton Lynch. So there's two guys there.....

Somewhere, out there, within the Fan Zone forum, a thread, dedicated on quarterbacks acquired by Jerry Jones since Troy Aikman's retirement, feels slighted.

If I remember correctly his next choice was Connor Cook. Jerry is such a great judge of QBs. Quincy was all on him.

You quoted the question, "[When] Was the last time we drafted a QB in [the] ten first round." You mention Dak Prescott, drafted in the fourth round by Dallas, and Trey Lance, who was indeed drafted in the first round by San Francisco.
I do not see the connection.

Because we’ve been blessed at QB for many of those years. Aikman was around until 2000. We would have used a first round pick on a QB in 2001 if we had one. Our first pick was Quincy Carter in the second round. We got lucky with Romo who took over in 2006. He lasted until 2015, then we got lucky with Dak. You guys who think drafting a QB in the first round guarantees anything either haven’t been following the NFL very long or aren’t very astute fans.

I think Quincy Carter was a baseball guy too. I remember how every prime time game the announcers would spend half the game talking about how great he slid from his baseball experience.
