Lets see........glasses or electrically induced psychotic eye movements..........

Well, that can't be good for the eyelids. Imagine if you were using them for a 3 and a half hour football game and it goes into overtime.

umm... are 3D glasses really that bad in the first place? lol dude looks like he is about to have a seizure or something lol, I think ill stick with the harmless glasses lol

Yes. They are.

Who the hell wants to wear glasses if you don't have too?

It'd be like wearing a colostomy bag so you don't have to use the bathroom the "old-fashioned" way.

I'd still rather wear eye glasses than have two electrodes molest my eyelids for hours at a time.

No, they're not. It's not like billions of people don't wear glasses everyday as it is. And the ones who don't need glasses wear sunglasses all the time too. A couple hours every now and then is no big deal to any sane, reasonable human being.

The new Nintendo 3DS is going to do the handheld gaming thing with 3d that doesn't require glasses or anything. My understanding is the way they do it requires you to really be directly in front of the screen for it to work though, which is why it's not good for TVs. The stuff mentioned in that article about 3d TVs that didn't need glasses sounded pretty cool.

I've never cared much about 3d anyway. I mean, it doesn't really enhance my viewing to watch athletes look like they're closer. Just give me a good HD picture and I'm cool.

They showed a 3D monitor at a consumer electronics show in Vegas a few weeks ago that could produce the effect without the glasses. Everyone who saw the TV was impressed. Here's some info on 3D sets without the glasses.

Everyone is an overstatement. They weren't the first ones that have been shown, and they won't be the last. The technology has inherent problems such as limited viewing angles/distance, poor resolution, cost, etc.

In other words, it won't be viable for a long time, if ever, except for in small screens such as the 3DS or laptops.
