While 4-2 is where I had us going into the season it feels much better now .

My two losses were SF and Jets( with Rodgers).

After week 2 I thought might have under estimated . 5-1 looked like the greater expectation.

But the loss in the desert reduced our expectations. And then the blowout loss in SF brought in doubt the slide could continue.

I had said the Chargers game was as close to a must win as October can present. The possibility of losing 3 of 4 heading into bye at 3-3 might have felt like an unraveling and potential collapse with Rams and Egirls upcoming, we could be staring at least 4-4 or 3-5. And we could have been ready to light the dumpster fire.

But we avoided that dire situation with a resilient performance in our 1st close game in a game I’d argue we had to win. Now at 4-2 along with surprising upsets to SF and Phi we are sitting at only 1 game back which is basically where I had us at the bye going in.

We still have everything in front of us. Our goals are still reachable . And we could even get more help this Sunday nite with Egirls a tough matchup against Miami.

This doesn’t mean we still don’t have some concerns and issues as our offense is still sputtering and penalties are hurting us. But we showed we don’t have to play our best game to pull out a win. Good teams find a way to win when they aren’t playing well. Bad teams find a way to lose.

This bye now comes at a good time. We can catch our breathe. Get some guys healthy , work on some of these issues and look ahead to rest of season with more optimism as we currently are the 5th seed with a potential to trend up in coming weeks as our first matchup with Egirls in 2 weeks could be for division lead which was our initial goal for 2023.

I used to feel that way but now it’s an opportunity for a get away weekend during the season or do something else.
Every game is on a work night 8pm or 4:30 on Sunday so it doesn’t really stop me from doing much. A noon game on Sunday might be an issue but not for us.

The Rams game after the bye is a noon game. Which is a bit surprising. However, the late games seemed to better match ups. As I think the NFL figured the Rams would not be very good or competitive the way they played last year.
Cincinnati at SF is their big draw for that day. Probably did not want those two games going against each other in the ratings.

Yep, the win helped them avoid the added media scrutiny during the bye week.
HC and QB would have been further put under the microscope.

They have at least delayed this from happening again for another few weeks.

4-2 is a decent start. Need to be at least 8-3 after this next 5 game stretch or the late season schedule may do us in.
6 of the next 7 games are winnable. That includes a split with the Eagles.
Rams, Washington and Seattle games could be tough, depending which teams show up. Them and us.
If the teams for us shows up in our 4 wins, and the offense improves even just a little bit, I thing we could win 6 of them. Would be great to sweep the Eagles though.

May be a bit optimistic but it is possible.

I think 4-2 is deceiving to be honest. Dallas’ offense, particularly in the red zone, is stagnant; their defense has played well at tines and were basically responsible for 1-2 wins, but will have to play better at a sustained level to continue to help the offense.
With the Lions, Rams, Bills and Dolphins upcoming their work is cut out. MM and DQ need to try to fix their respective issues quickly during the bye week if at all possible.
Although SF and Philly lost their respective games it is not a reach to say that they will recover their form; their consistency moreso than their talent level, is what separates themselves from Dallas.

I personally don't think AZ is the worst team. They're better than their record. They have had a really tough schedule. But they're better than their record says they are.
Yeah I thought I was being a homer after our game with them, but I don't believe they are as bad as 1-5.

I'm not saying they are good, but I don't think they belong in the "worst team in the NFC" pool.
