Why not trade him (LA) along with one of our draft picks to move up in the draft order? Say two or three slots.

Cuz no one is stupid enough to want LA for $7.5 mil a year.

Any team trading for him would have to keep his current contract.

Only we're stupid enough to pay that kind of money to a player on the decline.

TB, I am still worried about the interior depth of the defensive line with the release of experience in Glover. I would like to see a big strong bodied replacement.

Also, I am not convinced the OL is where we want it. Two good signings.....improvement .....yes....but IMO not enough!

I agree, though the draft will probably have to be where we get better. I would not be opposed to another inexpensive FA OL player for depth but in terms of upgrading the line we best focus on the draft and hopefully develop what we can.

Parcells seemed to love his fullback the first year he was here. I think we're just waiting for someone he's happy with.

True you have to ignore some of these fans they obviously don't follow the games closely. When we had a guy like Ritchie Anderson the offense was that more explosive, can you imagine somebody like Sowell along with J. Jones, T.O., Glenn, Witten and Crayton you have to like the sound of that!

I agree that we need experience at FS and K but I think Vanderjagt is damaged goods.
He missed the most important kick in his career by 30 yds.
Kickers are funny...confidence is everything and if we are going to spend big time money on a kicker why get one who's confidence is lacking and does not kickoff well at all???
It's Vinatieri and Brown for me.
At FS I am willing to gamble and go for Law at that spot. He's a ball-hawk and we haven't had one of those at FS since James Washington.
Coleman is a Parcells guy too but Law has the knack for getting turnovers.
In the draft I see us looking for a NT,OL,LB,WR and S.
At the 18th pick LB is a good choice..or maybe wr.

Santonio Holmes-wr-Ohio St.-Considered the best wr in the draft.
Chad Jackson-wr-Florida-Reminds me of Javon Walker when he came out for the draft.
With Fabini signing I don't see us getting an OT at 18. I like Winston Justice at that spot but right now we don't have a pressing need at that spot.
I see trading down in the draft as a bigger chance with TO and Fabini signed now.

If he was cheap, you wouldn't want to take a chance on Kerry Collins as a backup? I'm very intrigued by Tony Romo but I'd feel safer if the Cowboys had someone else with experience. Honestly, I'm not that worried. Bledsoe never seems to get hurt.

I'm with you. I'll be crushed if they released Larry. He's probably my favorite player on the team. Even if we keep him as a back-up, I'd like just one player from that 90's dynasty to win one last Super Bowl under the Parcells rebirth.

Backup guards don't get paid $7.5 mil in this league.

FB: Sowell or the new TE we signed is only 6' 2" and can perform most FB duties.

Draft:

1st: trade down a few and get a 4th

1st: Lawson, Carpenter, Wimberly
2nd: OL (tackle/OG depending on scouting dept impression of depth at these 2 positions- too many unknowns to fans such as health of Coleman, progress of petitti, adams etc)
3rd: WR
4th: FS
5th: NT. BP knows what to look for, Ferguson ws a 6th rounder (if i am not mistaken)

if we take a FS before round 3, i will break something. despite FA top priorities still are OLB and OL. PERIOD.

You could always draft a fullback. There's some good ones available this year in he draft. It's probably the cheapest way to go.

I don't think we need a backup QB. I think Romo can do okay as a backup. Maybe we can pick up one during the season if there's an injury.
