This goes back to what I always believed. The NFL does not need the Cowboys in the Super Bowl to make money. All they need is the Cowboys to be relevant.

And in every season since 2006, they have been relevant except in 2010, 2015, and 2020 when Romo or Dak were injured.

Even all those 8-8 Garrett teams had a chance to make the playoffs going into the final week of the season so the ratings were always there.

I said this in another thread...Cowboys have the largest fan base, but by large margin the most anti-fans. What's best for the NFL is for the Cowboys to be relevant enough to make the playoffs but to lose early to keep everyone watching before the real post season begins...the conference champion game and SB.

I think that the haters were in the majority since the Packers got a lead so fast and so much
I would love a breakdown to see if the ratings stayed the same or incresed or decreased over the course of the game
would tell us just how many are real cowboy fans and how many want to see us lose

when I saw the 4:30 game I though ugh as we haven't won a late afternoon Sunday playoff game since 1995.

Jerry got what he wanted
The NFL and FOX got what it wanted.
So don't be surprised / be angry when the schedules come out four months from now....and the Cowboys only have two 1PM eastern time \ 12 NOON central time kickoffs.

All these record viewers and choke jobs over the years. Can’t be good for our future reputation. People who remember us as Super Bowl dynasties are starting to die off.
