I have no problem with the Cowboys when they bust a pick. It does bother me when it’s clearly forced…like Joseph when they didn’t get Surtain or Horn, but every team busts picks. Part of the landscape.
The problem I have is that they not only operate as if that fairly common occurrence will never happen, but think mid round picks are going to become high end starters all too often.
You’d figure someone in the room has to look around and say that they would have to literally be the best drafting team in league history for the overall plan to work, but guess not. Probably the result of too many opinions…but ok. They seem to be satisfied with themselves and have enough fans that feel the same.
