5.5 Hour Layover in DFW... What to do?

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, so mods, feel free to move it if necessary.

Anyways, I'm heading off to Mexico for the final week of August and heading back on August 30th. I have a 5 and a half hour layover at DFW from 9:55am to 3:20pm. I live in Montreal, so obviously I can't make it to the area whenever I want (in fact, it's been about 8 years). Since everyone here is a huge Cowboys fan and most of you are from the area, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do during that span?

I have looked into tours at Jerry World, but it appears no self-guided tours are available on the 30th and there's no on-field access either. VIP guided tours are available though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the last five hours of your life...

Still amazes me how people still go to Mexico with all the violence. Darwinism i guess.

Five hours isn't really worth leaving the airport, dealing with the traffic, and risk missing your plane.

They probably have a Cowboys pro shop in the airport, food court, and whatever else you might want for entertainment purposes. Besides, they should have Cowboys stuff all over the place in there.

If you want to risk it, you can always try to get to Cowboys stadium for a quickie visit.

You could stop by Hard 8 in Grapevine and get some BBQ. Not too sure about Cowboys related stuff to do.

Nice.
With that reply, you pass the Darwin test.
So what is your excuse for going to Mexico--especially in the middle of the summer?
BTW, if you're going to Cozemel, Riviera Maya, etc...that's very safe.

Riviera Maya actually

Was on a co-op work-term as an auditor at a CPA firm (or CA firm, as they call it in Canada) for the past 8 months and need a vacation before going back to university full-time. Thanks to my Canadian tuition (or more specifically, my Quebec tuition), I can actually afford a pretty luxurious vacation despite living on my own, studying full-time, and not a dime of financial support from my family.

I agree with WG.

Take pictures of the stadium before you land (yes from the plane). And then go to the Pro Shop in the Airport. There is at least one that I recall.

Here is a list of the restaurants that are in the airport. I liked Pappasito's, and always get Popeyes when I go through DFW. http://www.dfwairport.com/shops/finder.php?type=restaurants

And 6 Pro Shops. http://www.dfwairport.com/shops/finder.php?type=shops
