5 Simple Keys for a Cowboy Special Season

1-Figure out the offensive slow starts

2-Have a balanced, offensive attack. Run game has disappeared down the stretch the last two seasons. Teams figured out playing coverage was the best way to slow down this offense.

3-Win the early defensive downs. Cowboys need to consistently stop the run, so they are able to play more to their strength against the pass.

4-Dak and the offense must prioritize protecting the football. Cannot win in this league, turning the football over at such a high rate.

5-Kicker needs to make all makeable FG's and extra points.

Yes. Take Parsons for example. If he's out, this defense is a LOT less scary.

These would be my five keys. If we perform well in there’s areas I think the sky is the limit.

Good post but some very vanilla talking points.
1- Figure out the offensive play calling and have a real identity. Big Mike has not called plays since his GB days and that did not end well with Rodgersl
I didnt love Kellen Moore as I think he didnt know how to call a good game and and actually try to win.

2. Unleash our pass rush, and keep the pressure on the opposing offenses. We are loaded at DL, DE & secondary. Play to our strenghts.

3. Score as much as possible, don't go conservative. The league nowdays is all about scoring.

4. Special teams need to perform. FG kickers needs to make everything under 50

The entire season will correlate to the success of these 5 positions.

- Defense will have to keep us close in game while Offense shakes out the slow start kinks. Star players did not get any preseason work.

- " Wink" the DC for Giants, loves the Zone blitz scheme .. ala ex DC Steelers LeBeau style. Like to disguise and mix it
up.

- Cowboys have won 10 outta last 11 contests vs NYG under Dak ,.. only Dak loss was the horrible ankle injury game.

They are going to try to blitz us with press coverage, there should be a few opportunities for the chunk plays.

I was hoping Mazi will eventually help out with that situation. Too many time our edge guys got to the QB only for him to step up and run right up the middle for big gains.

Not looking for Mazi to Bull rush sacks….just looking for him to clog up the middle and seal off the escape rout

With a running QB like Dimes, i wonder if Quinn will opt to more nickel , which would place Mazi on the bench until maybe goal line spots
