6.8 Magnitude 'Quake hits Peru

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck a remote Amazon region of Peru on Wednesday, shaking office buildings in the capital almost 600 kilometers (370 miles) away, witnesses and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
Local media said there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in central parts of the Andean nation.

Actually that isn't even right. :laugh2: It has nothing to do with planet alignment. It's that they believe the Earth (and Sun) will cross the galactic equator causing a geomagnetic reversal (sort of the way water swirls around a drain the opposite way in the southern hemisphere than it does in the northern) which in turn could cause the world to flip over throwing season completely out of wack and causing title waves and valcanic activity (via the changing in gravitational pull from the moon and Sun) among other things.
