Pretty good draft up until this pick. This guy won't make it out of training camp.

The video is like watching a qb run linebacker drills. Maybe he is smart, maybe he can play, but i think we passed up more well known talent to take a chance on a guy who might not make the team.

Listening to him call in to the Draft Show, he's not a very good interview.

I talked about Covington a few times in the draft forum; he was one of my sleepers.

I watched a few of his games live. Thought he was extremely physical, especially once he diagnosed the play. He's vicious tackler and plays angry.

Looks like a candidate to be the backup Mike who can play special teams. 6'2 245 4.78, Brugler rated him as an UDFA:

SUMMARY: A one-year starter at Indiana, Covington lined up inside in the Hoosiers’ dual-linebacker scheme, playing next to Tegray Scales. He moved between several positions his first two seasons in Bloomington and entered 2017 with one career defensive start, but quickly adapted and played like a veteran. While very average from a size/speed perspective, Covington competes with a physical appetite and fills with power. With his lack of experience at the position, he needs to continue and develop his awareness, but he rarely took himself out of plays on tape, including in coverage. Overall, Covington might not have a high ceiling in the NFL, but he flashes the competitive chops and enough speed to see the field on special teams.

GRADE: Priority Free Agent

Very low budget version of guy I expected us to take at LB. Half time Mike run support specialist. Special teams.

With LVE at Mike, we can afford to go low budget here. He's a backup run support Mike to LVE for the next couple of years at least.

Probably the pick I hate the most.

I prefer to use later round picks on athletic projects not slow unathletic movers like this.

Back up and ST guy. We needed another LB
And you could have taken a number of better ones if you just needed a backup and STer.

There is absolutely nothing remarkable about this player.

They are saying that Cichy has not played since 2016 and has knee and other health concerns. He might be ready for TC but no guarantee that he would play much this year.

Starting to see a pattern w/ this...Knee injury...red flagged...your not getting drafted by the Cowboys.
