Ok, so I know this is way to early, but no playoffs makes Jack a dull boy.

So here I go.

First and foremost, lets go with Free Agency

Dontari Poe-Finally get someone in here to stop the run and keep our LB's clean at the second Level, also, imagine him playing fullback like Atlanta uses him for now at the goal line.

Kevin Minter or Zach Brown-Not expensive options but will give us some depth and allow us to move Jaylon to something other than Mike because he isn't one.

DJ Fluker-Depth Signing low cost or don't bring him in

Now for the draft.

19: R1P19
WR CALVIN RIDLEY
ALABAMA

Love this kid and automatically makes our WR corps better. Speed, and the route running ability to be where he needs to be, and is great with the ball in his hands. Perfect fit here and a perfect compliment to Dez who isn't leaving

50: R2P18
EDGE MARCUS DAVENPORT
UTSA

Another big body on the DL, and this kid is a monster. It will free up DLaw to get to the QB and this kid can play on the inside as well.

81: R3P17
LB DANTE BOOKER
OHIO STATE

Gives us some depth at LB and this kid is a future star. Hard hitter, really fast side line to sideline and gives us insurance for Lee when he goes down.

118: R4P16
DL DA'SHAWN HAND
ALABAMA
136: R4P34

A guy that can command some double teams and help in run support. I think he would be a steal here.

TE DALLAS GOEDERT
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
139: R4P37

The next Gronkowski and our Witten replacement. This kid is born to wear the Star. Hes a big boy, and has great hands. Again, a steal if we get him here

CB JORDAN THOMAS
OKLAHOMA
174: R5P36

OT CASEY TUCKER
STANFORD
176: R5P37

S DOMINICK SANDERS
GEORGIA
197: R6P19

RB JOHN KELLY
TENNESSEE

LAST PICK-EDGE AUSTIN BRYANT
CLEMSON

Let me know what you guys think. I didn't want to continue as I am at work, but any input would be great.

Love Goedert but 4th round comp pick is most likely a pipe dream unless something happens. McShay is already mocking him at the end of the 1st.

Other than that id be pretty happy. 3rd round LB + spending free agent $ there might be a little overkill but nothing to complain about

It's the season of FA lists for the Cowboys to sign.

This is followed up by a pitchfork parade when all these players are gone the first week of free agency while the Cowboys sit idle.

Eh, he's a 1 tech. We simply don't value those.

Ya know why the Giants always seem to give us hell every time we play them? Namely because of their 1 tech. They dominate that match up and it really clogs everything for our offense.

It'd be nice to finally have a real space eater in there. We didn't even have a real one when we were in a 3-4.

Not too early. I look forward to these mocks.
I like your mock, by the way.

I think Stephen screws with Jerry’s iPhone calendar and changes the start of free agency to a week later.

i wish we valued them as well. Put Suh or Poe on the interior and watch Jaylon Smith look like a Pro Bowler next year lol

Even long before Marinelli the management of this team didn't put a lot of value on the 1tech, viewing it as a 2 down player. At best you can expect them to look for someone's backup that flashed that they can sign for about what they gave Thorton a couple of years ago. Most likely if history holds they'll try to fill it in the 4th or later. If your dead set on a receiver, trade down and get Kirk, Ridly just seems like he has bust written all over him. Most everything I've seen has Bryant as a late 1st to mid 2nd so if you can figure out how to get him in the 7th then good deal. Personally I'd take his teammates Clelin Ferrell in the 1st with a big giants smile!

Davenport, Goedert and Bryant have little chance to fall where you have them mocked barring a disastrous combine or injury. Otherwise this would be A+.

I am hoping this front office will see the benefit of adding two/three quality free agents rather than dumpster diving for four/five but doubt that happens.

Personally I would go with Kyle Fuller, Jay Bromley, Kenny Vaccaro and call it a day. If Aquib Talib comes available you go get him instead of Fuller.

The previous defenses were 3-4s. They use a zero tech, not 1tech.

Not only would it help the DL but also protects the overall run defense from another collapse when/if Sean Lee misses games.

Outside Maryland 1st and Willie Blade comp 3rd I can't remember them putting any resources into it! Yeah, and even in the 34 they wouldn't invest in a nose!
