This has happened over and over so many times. Management finds a way to build up one side of the ball to be respectable, but only one side. Not that long ago we had a great offense and the defense sucked, for years.
This year the "powers that be" decided it is the defense's turn to be good, and to hell with the offense. The whole world saw the issues with the offense, but good old management just ignored it with the "our guys" BS.
As a lifelong fan since I was born in 1960, I can't think of an opening game that reached this level of lowness. These are some words for what I'm thinking about General Management:
Pitiful, Awful, Embarrassing, Disgusting, Pathetic, Wretched, Contemptible, Revolting, Shameless, Offensive, Despicable, Ignominious, Disgraceful, Cringeworthy, Horribly Horrendous, and Downright Sad!!!!!!
