Many loved his ball skills despite his 165 lb size. Didn't last long with Dan Quinn, is he worth a flyer if clears waivers, especially with all the injuries we have at the position?

Was he people’s pet cat because he’s the same weight as a house cat??

Absolute zero surprise he didn’t work out. You don’t take complete and utter outliers in terms height/weight/speed in the 1st round.

Understand but what in the world happened for them to give up on him after only one year........I am feeling Taco vibes
That or just didn't fit what Quinn wants and probably didn't show effort.
Cause yea, usually there's a leash with first rounders unless they are malcontent

The guy showed up to the combine at 6’1 166 pounds. Either he’s genetically not meant to play tackle football, or he was too lazy to even figure out where the weight room was at Miss St.

Either option is a giant problem and reflects why he’s looking for employment

I would take a flyer on him. Might even take him off waivers if the scouts thought he was first round worthy. The ball skills are elite and he is fast. I think he could be an elite nickel with Diggs/Bland. You have to be concerned that he was released so early though.

You would think Quinn still has a good relationship with Jerry and he will give him the low down

if it costs us nothing, sure why not. But this dude was benched last year and looked like complete trash in 2023 and 2024. Don't expect anything.

Will McClay seems like to taking a shot on 1st round picks who washed out.

We also need Corners.

But if we actually had a hgh draft grade on him, Jerry would have donated a 4th round pick to Washington before the deadline.
getting cut midway into your second season after being a top 20 pick is concerning. along with his frame concerns. but al harris is a wizard. i'd kick the tires.

When a highly drafted player washes out so soon, it’s one of two things. It’s either everyone one was wrong and he can’t play at the NFL level or a much more likely option.

He could have attitude and work ethic problems. Maybe even character issues. Now he has a choice. Be humble and realize you just blew an extremely fortunate option. Get to your 2nd team and prove the 1st team wrong. Or continue to squander that opportunity and prove your 1st team was right.

Either way, costs the Cowboys next to nothing to find out which one is the case.
