A Friend Of Mine Is About To Hit The Big Time

Her name is Savannah Guthrie, and she is about to be named as Matt Lauer's co-host on the Today Show after Ann Curry stepped down this morning.

I should call Savannah's Mom and congratulate her. I am sure she is proud as can be of Savannah. Good person by the way. She left our news broadcasts to go to Law School at Georgetown.

Since then she's done a few things, but this is the big time.

Back when I met her she had her hair all black. I really liked her Grandma who has since passed away. Funny old gal. Her Mom used to be one of my customers. I basically remodeled her entire house.

One time I was in New Mexico and she called me because the pipes to her house broke. She wanted me to come take a look. I ended up giving her the name of a plumber I use. Thankfully it was all outside. No interior damage.

Really good people. Savannah was the news anchor on KVOA 4 back then. The whole town was proud of her when she took off for law school.

Always been proud to call her a friend.

Another friend of mine, the local country music morning DJ, (Cowboys fan by the way) just asked me to give her number to Savannah's mom to try and see if she can call the radio show.

This whole town is enjoying this news. Great for Savannah. She deserves every bit of this.

I felt bad Ann Curry got shafted royally, but I was shocked when she was named co-host. Ann was always awkward on camera and she messed up a lot, I actually thought Savannah was going to be the one after Meredith left, you could tell they were smitten with her even at that time.

I saw Arsenio Hall today say that when he was on the show that they were all interacting with her as though she was the main person already giving her the VIP treatment.
