I was at the game and the biggest thing that stood out to me was the number of Cowboys fans that were there. It was amazing! I estimated that a third of the fans were wearing Cowboys gear. At one point there was a "Let's go Cowboys" cheer going up throughout the stadium.

The Panthers fans were outstanding, they were very loud and into the game but were also very respectful of the Cowboys fans that were there. Nothing like being at a Raiders or Eagles game.

On to the game:

I thought we were going to be blow out the way the game started with them scoring 10 points in about 10 seconds. They started out slow with a 3-and-out but after we did the same they marched down the field but had to settle for a FG. On the kickoff, Thompson had a nice runback but fumbled the ball and they recovered it.

Delhomme hit Carter for a 32-yard TD on the first play. I started to get a little depressed at that point but then things got going our way.

The Panthers were oly flagged 6 times but I think each of those 6 cost them dearly.

On our next possession Bledsoe got sacked for a big loss but Julius got it back on the next play. Then on 3rd & long Drew hit Glenn for a big pass. I thought Glenn pushed off but the refs called it on the Panthers. They also called roughing the passer which we took and it added 15 yards to the 51 Glenn gained on the catch. Thet put us in good position and Julius took it in for the score two plays later.

The game went back and forth and Cundiff's blocked FG was looming large as we got down to the 4-minute mark and they were moving the ball on us. They Jake hit Proehl for a 35-yard TD right in front of us. It was almost identical to the 69-yard pass he hit on their first scoring drive which got them to the 11 yard line and set up the FG.

Now they were ahead by 3 with 2:32 left and the game was going to rely on Billy Cundiff again. Oh that's just great!

We moved the ball down the field and I was praying that we would score a TD and not play for the FG (which is what it looked like Parcells was doing). Sure enough we stalled at the 15 with 1:08 to play and lined up for a FG which of course Cundiff missed as I knew he would.

I started to gather up my stuff and looked for the exit but my son said there was a flag on the field... It turned out that Peppers had run into Cundiff and Billy did a nice "flopperoo" and drew the flag. The refs even reviewed the play to see if the ball had been tipped (since Cundiff had missed it so badly). The Panthers claimed that they had touched it which means that there should be no penalty but the refs claimed that Cundiff just sucked and shanked it wide, therefore the penalty stands giving us a 1st down. We were alive afterall!

After 2 runs gained 9 yards Bledsoe hit Glenn for a nice fade in the endzone for the TD and the win.

It was a great game to watch live as it went back and forth. I thought the refs bailed us out a couple of times (which was nice for a change). My hat is off to the Panthers fans as they were very gracious to us and congratulated us on the win (with help from the refs of course).

My only real regret was that a couple of Cowboys fans as we were leaving were crowing and talking smack all the way down the street. After the way we were treated by the Panthers fans it showed a complete lack of class by those loudmouth jerks. Otherwise the Cowboys fans behaved themselves very well.

Great game and I am thankful to my son-in-law for getting us the tickets for my Christmas present. He earned big points for that one but he still has a ways to go. LOL
