This is just a question or possible possibility.
The team knew Grier would be cut before the third game even begun.
Why would you be so ready to cut your roster down to having only 2 quarterbacks unless you were certain you were bringing another one in, regardless of you suspected you would eventually cut him.
I don't know. Something tells me we have maybe 3/4ths of the story, like there might be something missing. Then again, it could just be my silly way of thinking too deep into things.
