I absolutely love this message board. I have been a member here for years and I love speaking to my fellow fans about everything Cowboys, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Having said that, the polarity of this place is becoming extremely toxic and unreasonably contentious. It seems like that so many here don’t like people who don’t view things the same way that they do.

Some view EVERY move the Cowboys make as wrong. Some have a sunshine view of every move. I can see why those extreme factions have trouble with each other, but the truth lies somewhere in between.

I guess my thought process on this post is how about just being a little bit more civil with each other? I am quite sure that most everyone here (including those who always look for the bright side) are frustrated.

I know that I am frustrated with the Cowboys and last year I became as frustrated as I have ever been with the Cowboys. But that doesn’t mean that I am going to go out of my way to complain about every move that they make.

Some of the minor moves that they make will be positive. Maybe we will have an epic draft. Maybe we won’t. But I’m not going to assume the worst before it even happens.

It’s ok to be realistic. It’s ok to be negative. I think some of that is definitely appropriate, but let’s at least be civil in conversation with each other. There is really no need to just attack everything someone says because you don’t like them or agree with how they view the team.

A majority of the people here have opinions about the team that CHANGE from day to day or week to week. Views should change a little as the team evolves.

I don’t think that Dak is the guy to lead us anywhere and I don’t understand why the Cowboys paid him what they did. I don’t think he will get better and I think he is like an anvil around the team’s neck. But I am not going to purposefully be hateful to someone that believes differently than me on Dak.

In short please try to be civil with one another. I know it’s hard right now with so much going wrong for so long, but at least try.

Sharing is being a true fans. More than failures are involved and a 30 year old calendars gives nothing back to discuss or share.

i hate to tell you this, but the reality is, this is what our society has become on social media, and even though this is more of a forum than social media it is the same premise.

I had avoided using the ignore feature for many years, but this past year i had to put 3 people on it that I simply cant stand anymore. What I am finding is that I am posting on here less and less simply becuase its not worth the hassle of getting attacked.

I don't do any social media and am nly on this forum and the corvette forum - outside of that i choose to save my emotional energy for more important things

We should always strive to be civil.
I think the reality of what's wrong with the team is really starting to set in with almost all serious Cowboy fans.
The reality is we are never winning anything of note with the current front office set up.
You just cant take an average football mind with a business background and assume that this person has the expertise to be a successful GM.
It has not worked for 29 years and there is no hope its going to work now.
This has made even the most ardent fan here, grumpy and grouchy.

Thanks for your post. I hope it changes culture in here a bit.

I have thought about this for a while.

Why do posters need to start the same thread over and over again. We get it, Dallas hasn't won in 28 years, yada, yada, yada. The common demoninator is Jerry. We could wish all we want but Jerry isn't going anywhere. We all can only wait for death to see any change happen. That the reality of the situation. We all just have to live with it, till we don't.

On the operation of the team, if your just realizing that Dallas doesn't do free agency that they build though the draft. I don't know what kind of fan you are because this has been going on for the last 10 years at least.

If you expect Dallas to splurge on top level free agents, that's you projecting your beliefs on how the team should be run. Not rooted in reality. If your pissed that Dallas only signs depth pieces and bridge players till they draft a starter, that's on you.

All I ask is that you learn your team and stay rooted in reality. I would like the team to operate differently, but that is fantasy, wishful thinking, because it will still be run the same.

There's more but I would be getting in blueblood70 territory.

Corvette forum has quite the Off Topic sections, puts this OT forum to shame.

I consider it a support group and I’m thankful for it.

I don’t place many on ignore and have only done it at all recently, so you’re point is well taken and I agree.

Some people come to places like this for the purpose of arguing, where they don’t have to deal with it face to face. That becomes obvious after one or two exchanges of not being capable of agree to disagree.

All that aside, I guarantee if the product on the field was better you would not have felt the need to start this thread.

You could post "water is wet" and someone here will argue some chemistry angle that water is not actually "wet".
And he will post some article form e.g. BtB that he doesnt understand (and probably didnt read) to prove his point.

The hard truth is that ownership has alienated the fanbase for 30 years, and it is clear they will continue to do so. When your fanbase cares about winning more than the Joneses' do, there is a problem and it's not just us "fans", it's not evident in those players who have recently left. I for one can deal with losing if there is a clear path to success, however, there is no clear path.

I have said for a few years on here that I am one of the very few "objective" fans of this team, and haven't allowed my love for 1 or 2 players to cloud my judgment. As much of a nice person Dak is, there is zero argument that he is/was not the right player to help this team rebuild. The problem in fan forums is that you will have the negative Nancy, and you will have the Happy Homer. It is typically that "fan" that causes the most stir

Why would they change, when it has resulted in financial success.
