A lot of noise about the linebacker position

We aren't changing from a 4-3 Base Front, but we are moving towards more of a hybrid scheme. MM was quoted early on that he wanted 4 inside players and 6 pass rushers. The Patriots who run a similar scheme have a big LB alignment which employs two down lineman and 6 stand-up linebackers. It's anyone's guess who coming, who is playing coverage. Point is the team needs more linebackers who are versatile enough to play in any scheme. A linebacker who can disguise what he is doing on a given play is a big advantage for a defense. I believe this is where they are going to target their 1st pick with.

I listened to it live. Stephen was responding to the radio host mentioning that Bryan Broaddus had been “hearing” LB was a heightened position of need.

Stephen just mentioned that they didn’t feel it was a particular greater need than other positions.

The question I have is that new role more for a 3-4 OLB type like Aldon/Gregory or for a off the ball LB who has rush abilities like Jaylon?
