Why do journalists always refer to Jon Gruden 'falling in love' with players, (Cadillac at the senior bowl being the most common reference?)

I lived in Tampa for 13 years and thats the general vernacular of the writers......seriously........I remember when Dungy was "In love" with Jacquez Green.....lol.....
